Resolution 13176CITY OF ALAMEDA RESOLUTION NO. 13176 RECOGNIZING THE FIRST TWO GREEN BUSINESSES IN ALAMEDA AND ENCOURAGING SUPPORT OF GREEN BUSINESSES IN ALAMEDA WHEREAS, the City of Alameda wishes to honor individuals, businesses and organizations whose efforts contribute to the environmental quality of the community; and WHEREAS, it is important for the City of Alameda to encourage its businesses to conserve natural resources, save energy, and preserve the environment; and WHEREAS, the City Council of Alameda recognizes the importance of acknowledging and rewarding businesses that operate in an environmentally responsible manner; and WHEREAS, the Alameda County Green Business Program, a pai tnership of environmental, regulatory, resource conservation agencies and the business community, has established standards for resource conservation, pollution prevention, and environmental regulatory compliance for businesses; and WHEREAS, two Alameda businesses, Paul Madeiros of RyNck Tire & Auto Center at 861 Marina. `'i?iagc 2arkway, and Tim Gonick of Allegra Print & Imaging at 2723 Blanding Avenue, have been certified to have met the Green Business standards. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Alameda as follows: 1. Allegra Paint & Imaging and RyNck Tire and Auto Center are recognized for attaining Green Business status, and for being the first businesses in the City of Alameda to do so. 2. All citizens, businesses, civic groups, government agencies and other organizations are encouraged to support Green Businesses in Alameda. I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the 1st day of February , 2000, by the following vote to wit: AYES: Councilmembers Daysog, DeWitt, Johnson and Kerr - 4 NOES: None.
