Resolution 13265CITY OF ALAMEDA RESOLUTION NO. 13265 RECOGNIZING RECREATION AND PARK DIRECTOR SHERRY MCCARTHY'S CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE CITY OF ALAMEDA WHEREAS, Sherry McCarthy will retire from the City of Alameda's Recreation and Park Department after over 30 years of dedicated and exemplary service; and. WHEREAS, Ms. McCarthy enhanced the lives of thousands of Alameda citizens through her creative and innovative programs and services; and WHEREAS, Ms. McCarthy was the driving force behind the development and construction of recreation and park facilities that will touch the lives of generations to come including: Towata and Tillman Parks, in addition to Harrington and the College of Alameda Hardball Field; and WHEREAS, through Ms. McCarthy's leadership and detei niination, programs serving senior citizens and the disabled were conceived and implemented; and. WHEREAS, Ms. McCarthy has instituted a legacy of providing quality recreational programming with customer service being the highest priority within the award winning Recreation and Park Department. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Alameda hereby acknowledges the dedication and innovation that Sherry McCarthy has provided the City during her tenure with the Recreation and Park Department for more than 30 years and in particular for the positive and life enhancing effect her efforts have had on the citizens of Alameda. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Council would like to express their appreciation for Ms. McCarthy's efforts over the years and wish her a long and enjoyable retirement. I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the 15th day of August , 2000, by the following vote to wit: AYES: Councilmembers Daysog, DeWitt, Johnson, Kerr and Mayor Appezzato - 5.
