Resolution 13365CITY OF ALAMEDA RESOLUTION NO. 13365 AUTHORIZING OPEN MARKET PURCHASE OF FIVE POLICE VEHICLES FOR THE POLICE DEPARTMENT WHEREAS, there are funds available in the FY 2001 -2002 police equipment replacement fund for the purchase of five new police vehicles; and WHEREAS, the 2001 Ford Crown Victoria meets or exceeds all of the 2001 California Highway Patrol (C.H.P.) specifications as bid by the State of California, General Services Administration (Contract #1- 01- 23 -14); and WHEREAS, this vehicle is the best option for police class equipment available to the City at this time and can be obtained at a considerable savings to the City through this purchase; and WHEREAS, Section 3 -15 of the City Charter provides that the City Council, by four affirmative votes, can authorize an open market purchase if it determines that the materials or supplies can be purchased at a lower price in the open market. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Alameda that pursuant to Section 3 -15 of the City Charter, the Police Department, in cooperation with the Finance Director, is hereby authorized to purchase five (5) Ford Crown Victoria, C.H.P. specifications, vehicles from Fremont Management Company. I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the City of Alameda in a regular meeting assembled on the 3rd day of July, 2001, by the following vote to wit: AYES: Councilmembers Daysog, DeWitt, Johnson, Kerr and Mayor Appezzato - 5.
