ACKNOWLEDGING CITY CLERK DIANE FELSCH FOR
HER CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE CITY OF ALAMEDA
WHEREAS, Diane Felsch has served under four Mayors and twenty -one Councilmembers
since joining the City of Alameda on April 28, 1980; and
WHEREAS, Diane Felsch, during her tenure, has administered City of Alameda elections,
serving and assisting numerous candidates for the Offices of Mayor, Councilmember, Auditor,
Treasurer and School Board Member, as well as petitioners, authors of ballot measure arguments and
members of ballot measure committees; and
WHEREAS, Diane Felsch has been dedicated to providing dependable and timely service to
the citizens, officials and staff of the City of Alameda; and
WHEREAS, Diane Felsch was responsible for implementing an automated Records
Management Program for official City records, providing for impeccable storage and maintenance
of historical and current records, preserving permanent records dating back to 1877 on microfiche
and identifying and eliminating records no longer of value; and
WHEREAS, Diane Felsch created a Legislative History Program, in 1988, to provide
effortless tracking of City Council actions; and
WHEREAS, Diane Felsch has attended over six hundred Special and Regular City Council
Meetings and prepared an accurate record of the proceedings; and
WHEREAS, Diane Felsch will officially retire from her position as City Clerk of the City of
Alameda on October 1, 2001.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Alameda does
hereby acknowledge Diane Felsch's twenty -one years of faithful and dedicated service.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Alameda extends its
deepest gratitude for Diane Felsch's contributions to the City and wishes her a long and enjoyable
retirement.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly
adopted and passed by the Council of the City of Alameda in a regular meeting assembled on the
17th day of July, 2001, by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Councilmembers Daysog, DeWitt, Johnson, Kerr and
Mayor Appezzato 5.
NOES: None.

ABSTENTIONS: None.
