Resolution 13407CITY OF ALAMEDA RESOLUTION NO. 13407 AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO SUBMIT AN APPLICATION FOR FUNDING THROUGH THE ROBERTI - Z'BERG- HARRIS URBAN OPEN SPACE AND RECREATION PROGRAM WHEREAS, the people of the State of California have enacted the Safe Neighborhood Parks, Clean Water, Clean Air, and Coastal Protection Act of 2000 which provides funds for the Roberti - Z'Berg- Harris Open Space and Recreation Program; and WHEREAS, the Legislature of the State of California has enacted the Roberti- Z'Berg -Harris Open Space and Recreation Program, which provides funds to certain political subdivisions of the State of California for acquiring lands and for developing facilities to meet urban recreational needs; and WHEREAS, the California Department of Parks and Recreation has been delegated the responsibility for administration of the grant program, setting up necessary procedures; and WHEREAS, said procedures established by the California Department of Parks and Recreation requires the Applicant's Governing Body to certify by resolution the approval of the Application before submission of said application to the state; and WHEREAS the Applicant will enter into a contract with the State of California for the Project: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Alameda hereby authorize the City Manager to: File an application for local assistance funds from the Roberti - Z'Berg -Harris Urban Open Space and Recreation Program under the Safe Neighborhood Parks, Clean Water, Clean Air, and Coastal Protection Bond Act of 2000 in the amount of $140,000 to be matched with an additional $40,000 in City Funds and $20,000 from a non - governmental source for the renovation of Littlejohn Park. 2. Execute all necessary applications, contract payment requests, agreements and amendments for securing grant funds and to implement and carry out those specified in the grant application. I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the City of Alameda in a regular meeting assembled on the 16th day of October, 2001, by the following vote to wit: AYES: Councilmembers Daysog, DeWitt, Johnson, Kerr and Mayor Appezzato - 5.
