Resolution 13451CITY OF ALAMEDA RESOLUTION NO. 13 4 51 AUTHORIZING APPLICATION FOR FISCAL YEAR (FY) 2002/03 BICYCLE TRANSPORTATION ACCOUNT (BTA) FUNDS FOR BICYCLE PROJECTS WHEREAS, the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) has allocated BTA funds for bicycle projects for fiscal year 2002/03; and WHEREAS, the City of Alameda proposes to apply for $210,300 in Caltrans BTA funding to upgrade traffic signal controllers and install bicycle sensitive loop detectors at the intersections of Encinal Ave. and High St.; Central Ave. and Grand St.; and Santa Clara Ave. and Grand St.; and WHEREAS, BTA guidelines require that local agencies fund at least 10% of the total project costs; and WHEREAS, the City has $21,310 in funds available in the Measure B Pedestrian/Bicycle funds to provide the local matching funds; and WHEREAS, the City of Alameda Bicycle Master Plan identifies bicycle support facilities, including bicycle sensitive loop detectors, as Project #3 among the recommended ranking of bicycle improvements. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Alameda authorizes the filing of applications with Caltrans for allocation of BTA funds for fiscal year 2002/03 for the project described above, authorizes the necessary 10% local match and authorizes the Public Works Director to execute any necessary documents. I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the City of Alameda in a regular meeting assembled on the 21st day of May, 2002, by the following vote to wit: AYES: Councilmembers Daysog, DeWitt, Johnson, Kerr, and Mayor Appezzato - 5.
