AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER OR HIS DESIGNEE TO SUMBIT A GRANT
APPLICATION FOR BAY TRAIL FUNDS FOR A FEASIBIT,ITY STUDY OF THE CROSS -
ALAMEDA MULTIPURPOSE TRAIL FROM CONSTITUTION WAY TO MAIN STREET
AND EXECUTE ALL ASSOCIATED DOCUMENTS
WHEREAS, the Association of Bay Area Governments (ABAG) has funds to allocate for
furthering Bay Trail improvements and conducting, feasibility studies; and
WHEREAS, the proposed Cross - Alameda Multipurpose Trail would promote community -
based planning and create more livable communities in this region by improving transportation
choices and increasing pedestrian, bicycle and transit linkages; and
WHEREAS, the City of Alameda wishes to apply to the ABAG for funding of one project:
$75,000 to prepare a feasibility study for the Cross - Alameda Multipurpose Trail from Constitution
Way to Main Street.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Alameda
hereby authorizes the City Manager or his designee to:
1. File an application with the ABAG for allocation of Bay Trail Funds to be completed
prior to December 2004 for the project described above; and
2. Executes all necessary applications, contracts, payment requests, agreements, and
amendments for securing grant funds and to implement and carry out those specified in
the grant application.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly
adopted and passed by the Council of the City of Alameda in a regular meeting assembled on the 1st
day of July, 2003, by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Councilmembers Daysog, Kerr, Matarrese, and Mayor Johnson - 4.
NOES: None
ABSENT: Councilmember De
ABSTENTIONS: None.
