APPROVING THE FILING OF AN APPLICATION FOR ELECTIVE COVERAGE UNDER
STATE DISABILITY INSURANCE FOR ALL ALAMEDA MANAGEMENT AND
CONFIDENTIAL EMPLOYEES ASSOCIATION COVERED EMPLOYEES PURSUANT TO
SECTION 710.5 OF THE CALIFORNIA UNEMPLOYMENT INSURANCE CODE
WHEREAS, on December 3, 2002 the Council of the City of Alameda, by its Resolution
No 13543, approved a Memorandum of Understanding with the Alameda Management and
Confidential Employees Association for the period of September 9, 2002 through December 31,
2004; and
WHEREAS, Section 26.4 of the Memorandum of Understanding provides for the City to
conduct an election to determine if the members wish to be covered by State Disability Insurance
at the employees' own expense; and
WHEREAS, on June 18, 2003, the Alameda Management and Confidential Employees
Association voted forty -nine (49) to thirty -five (35) to be covered by State Disability Insurance.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Alameda that
said Council hereby approves the filing of an application for elective coverage under state
disability insurance for all employees who are members of the Alameda Management and
Confidential Employees Association.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly
adopted and passed by the Council of the City of Alameda in a regular meeting assembled on the 15th
day of July, 2003, by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Council embers Daysog, Matarrese, and Mayor Johnson - 3.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: Councilme
ABSTENTIONS: None.
