Resolution 11642CITY OF ALAMEDA RESOLUTION NO. 11642 SUPPORTING THE ALAMEDA UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT BOND ISSUE ON THE MARCH 7, 1989, GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION BALLOT FOR REHABILITATION AND IMPROVEMENT OF THE KOFMAN AUDITORIUM TO ENHANCE FACILITIES FOR STUDENT AND COMMUNITY USE WHEREAS, the Board of Education (the "Board") has determined that the Kofman Auditorium of the Alameda Unified School District (the "District") needs to be rehabilitated and improved to enable the District to enhance the educational opportunities of the students in the District; and WHEREAS, in the judgment of the Board, it is advisable to provide the funding for such needs by means of sources including general obligation bonds; and WHEREAS, per Alameda Unified School District Resolution No 2102 the Board, has ordered the County Superintendent of Schools to call a bond election to be consolidated with the General Municipal Election to be held on March 7, 1989, and submit to the electors of the District the question of whether bonds of the District shall be issued and sold for the purpose of raising money for the following real property acquisitions or improvements as follows: structural upgrade, elimination of asbestos hazards, reroofing/waterproofing, restoration of internal walls, ceilings and floors, thermal insulation, acoustic treatment, improve heating and ventilating systems, handicap accessibility, emergency lighting, upgrade of electrical systems and other repairs as necessary. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Alameda that said Council hereby supports the Alameda Unified School District Bond Issue for rehabilitation and improvement of the Kofman Auditorium to enhance facilities for student and community use. I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the 17th of January, 1989, by the following vote to wit: AYES: Councilmembers Arnerich, Camicia, Monsef and Acting President Thomas - 4.
