AND THE HOUSING AUTHORITY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
THURSDAY- -AUGUST 48, 1997- -2:30 P.M.
Mayor Appezzato convened the Special Joint Meeting at 2:30 p.m.
ROLL CALL:
PRESENT: Councilmembers/Housing Authority Board of
Commissioners Daysog, Kerr, Lucas,
DeWitt, and Mayor/Chair Appezzato - 5.
ABSENT: None.
Public Comment on Agenda Items Only
(97-482) Don Roberts, Alameda, requested that the Murphy v. City
of Alameda matter not be addressed in Closed Session.
In response to Councilmember Lucas' request for legal advice
concerning Mr. Roberts request, the City Attorney stated the
Council may direct that an item remain in Closed Session.
Councilmember Lucas moved that Murphy v. City of Alameda remain in
Closed Session.
Councilmember Daysog seconded the motion, which carried by
unanimous voice vote - 5.
(97-483) Mayor Appezzato remarked on certain comments which he said
had been made about him by Mr. Roberts.
Mr. Roberts, Alameda, refuted Mayor Appezzato's remarks.

Council adjourned to a Closed Session to consider:

Name of Case: Murphy v. City of Alameda.
Following the Closed Session, the Special Joint Meeting was
reconvened and Mayor Appezzato announced the City Council/Housing
Authority Board of Commissioners gave instructions to the City
Attorney/Legal Counsel.

There being no further business before the Council/Housing
Authority Board of Commissioners, Mayor Appezzato adjourned the
Special Meeting at 3:15 p.m.
