CITYOFALAMEDARESOLUTIONNO.14909 RESOLUTIONOFINTENTIONTOLEVYANANNUAL ASSESSMENTONTHEPARKSTREETBUSINESS IMPROVEMENTAREAOFTHECITYOFALAMEDAFORFY14-15 ANDSETAPUBLICHEARINGFORMAY6,2014 WHEREAS,Section6-7ofArticle"ofChapterVIoftheAlamedaMunicipalCode establishestheAlamedaBusinessImprovementAreaoftheCityofAlameda(hereinafter "Area");and WHEREAS,theAreacomprisesalloftheParkStreetBusinessAreaincludedby referenceonthemapandlistofinclusiveaddressesincludedinthisResolutionasExhibit AandB,respectively;and WHEREAS,theimprovementsandactivitiesauthorizedbytheOrdinanceinclude thegeneralpromotionofbusinessactivitiesintheArea,thepromotionofthepublicevents whicharetotakeplaceonorinpublicplacesintheArea,thedecorationofanypublic placeintheArea,thefurnishingofmusicinanypublicplaceintheArea,andthe acquisition,constructionormaintenanceofparkingfacilitiesforthebenefitoftheArea;and WHEREAS,agreementsbetweentheCityofAlameda(hereinafter"City")andthe ParkStreetBusinessAssociation(hereinafter"PSBA")designatedPSBAtoadminister BusinessImprovementArea(hereinafter"BIA")fundsfortheirrespectivegeographiczones oftheBIA;and WHEREAS,PSBAhasfiledreportswiththeCityClerkdescribingthesurplusor deficitrevenuestobecarriedoverfromFY2013-2014anddescribingtheimprovements andactivities,estimatedcostsandmethodsandbasisforlevyingtheassessmentforFY 2014-2015. NOW,THEREFORE,BEITRESOLVEDbytheCityCounciloftheCityofAlameda thatthePSBABoardofDirectorsisherebydesignatedastheBIAAdvisoryBodyforFY 2014-2015;and BEITFURTHERRESOLVEDthattheCityCouncilhasapprovedthePSBA assessmentreportforFY2014-2015;and BEITFURTHERRESOLVEDthattheCityCouncilherebysetsapublichearingto considertheannualassessmentfortheAreaforMay6,2014,atwhichtimewrittenororal protestsmaybemade;and BEITFURTHERRESOLVEDthattheCityClerkisherebydirectedtoadvertisesaid publichearingbycausingthisResolutionofIntentiontobepublishedonceinanewspaper ofgeneralcirculationintheCitynotlessthansevendaysbeforethepublichearing.
