AMNDING CERTAIN PORTIONS OF THE ALADA MUNICIPAL
CODE RELATING TO TRAFIC REGULATIONS
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMDA that:
Section 1.Section 17-431 (Through Highways) of the
Alamda Municipal Code is hereby amnded ' by adding subsection
(25) thereto to read:
(25)Island Drive, from the southerly line of
Doolittle Drive to the southerly line of Catalina
Avenue.
Section 2.Section 17-432 (Stop Intersections) of the
Alameda Municipal Code is hereby amended by repealing subsections
(79), (143). (164), (174), (178), (189) and (206) thereof.
Section 3.Section 17-333 (All Time and Limited No
Parking) of the Alameda Municipal Code is hereby amnded by
amending subsection (5) thereof to read:
(5)Walnut Street on the easterly side thereof.
(a)Between the northerly line of
Clinton Avenue and the southerly
line of Encinal Avenue.
(b)Between a point 183 feet southerly
from the south line of Central Avenue and
the southerly line of Buena Vista Avenue.

Section 4.Section 17-432 (Stop Intersections) of the
Alameda Municipal Code is hereby amended by adding subsection
(215) thereto to read:
(215)Washington Street and Peach Street, signs
shall be erected on Washington Street at or near the
northeasterly and southwesterly corners of its inter-
section with Peach Street.
Section 5.Section 17-461 (Yield Right-of-Way Inter-
section) of the Alameda Municipal Code is hereby amended by
repealing subsection (9) thereof.
Section 6.This ordinance is one of great necessity and
urgency within the meaning of Section 3-12 of the City Charter,
is introduced and passed at the same Council meeting and shall
become effective on December 7, 1977.
Section 7.The facts constituting the necessity and
urgency hereof are:
That traffic regulations are essential for the
orderly flow and control of traffic within the City.
That such regulations should necessarily be immediately
effective on passage to insure that maximum preservation of
public welfare is obtained.
That a potential health and safety problem will exist
if such amendments are not immediately effective.
That, in light of such potential health and safety
problems involved, the normal delay between enactment of t

ordinance and its effective date would be injurious.
This Council hereby finds, determines and declares
that it is in the best interest and necessity that this ordinance
be introduced and passed at the regular meeting of the city
council held December 6 , 1977, and that this ordinance become
and be in full force and effect December 7, 1977.
