RECLASSIFYING AND REZONING CERTAIN PROPERTIES WITHIN THE
CITY OF ALAMEDA BY AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 1277 IN
THE AREA BOUNDED BY THE MOUTH OF THE ESTUARY ON THE WEST,
CITY LIMITS ON THE NORTH , MILLER-SWEENEY BRIDGE ON THE
EAST , AND PIER AND BULKHEAD LINE ON THE SOUTH.
WHEREAS , pursuant to the California Environmental Quality ActNegative Declaration , IS-91-332 has been recommended for
adoption by the Planning Board and is adequate in addressing the
environmental impacts for the proposed rezoning; and
WHEREAS , the properties proposed for rezoning are identified
in Attachment " A" to this Resolution; and
WHEREAS, the existing and proposed General
designations of the subject properties are alsoAttachment "; and
Plan land useidentified in
WHEREAS, parcels along the waterfront are within the
boundar ies of the Business and Waterfront Improvement proj ect; and
WHEREAS , the Planning Board held a publicapplication on March 14 1994, and examineddrawings, and documents , and recommended approval
and
hearing on this
pertinent maps
of the rezoning;
WHEREAS , the City Council held a public hearing on this
application on May 3 , 1994 , and examined pertinent maps, drawings,
and documents; and
WHEREAS , the City Council has made the following findings:
The proposed zoning reclassification will have
significant adverse effects on the integrity of theGeneral Plan.
The proposed zoning reclassification will have
significant adverse effects on the environment.
The proposed zoning reclassification will havesignificant adverse effects on the welfare of
communi ty .

The proposed zoning reclassification would be consistent
with the use designation specified by the Redevelopment
Land Use Map, Attachment 3 to the Community ImprovementPlan (CIP) for the Business and Waterfront Improvement
proj ect.
BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Alameda that:
Section 1 Section 30-3.3 (Establishment of Districts) of
the Alameda Municipal Code is hereby amended by reclassifying
the properties identified in Attachment "A" to E (Estuary).
Section 2 The above amendment shall be known as and
referred to as Reclassification and Rezoning Amendment No. 168 to
Ordinance No. 1277 , N.
section 3 This Ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after the expiration of thirty (30) days the
date of its final passage.
