SPECIAL JOINT MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL AND THE
PUBLIC UTILITIES BOARD OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA
HELD MONDAY SEPTEMBER 30, 1985
The meeting convened at 12:02 p.m. with President Diament presiding.
ROLL CALL: Present: Councilmembers Corica, Hanna, Monsef (12:05
p.m.), and President Diament - 4.
Absent: Councilmember Lucas - 1.
Public Utilities Board Members present were: Edwin Dankworth (12:04
p.m.), Douglas Durein, John Hines, Bruce Rupp and Jack Shepard,
Secretary.
85-568 Approval of City of Alameda Bureau of Electricity Insurance
Specifications.
The Assistant City Manager reported that the general liability and
property insurance for the City and the Bureau of Electricity will
expire December 1, 1985. It was recommended that the Council and the
Public Utilities Board approve the insurance specifications as
prepared and authorize their release so that a broker may be selected.
Council posed numerous questions concerning specifications, to which
responses were provided by Don DeVere, President, Mund, McLaurin and
Co., the City's consultant, and by staff.
It was moved by Councilmember Hanna, and seconded by Councilmember
Monsef, that the specifications be approved and released. The motion
carried by unanimous voice vote - 4 (Councilmember Lucas absent).
The Public Utilities Board passed a similar motion.
ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business to come before the Council, President
Diament adjourned the meeting at 12:39 p.m.
