HELD TUESDAY AFTERNOON MAY 23, 1967
The meeting convened at 4:30 o'clock p.m. with President McCall presiding.
ROLL CALL:
The roll was called and Councilmen Bartley, La Croix, Jr., Rose and President McCall, (4), were
noted present. Absent: None.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS:
Receipt of the Notice and Agenda of this special meeting had been acknowledged by the Councilmen
and was on file. The purpose of the session was to give consideration to appointments to fill the
vacancy on the City Council due to the resignation of Councilman William S. Godfrey, effective May 17,
1967, and the impending vacancy on July 1, 1967, on which date the resignation of Councilman George A.
Rose would become effective. Appointments to the various City Boards and Commissions were also to
be discussed.
Councilman Bartley moved the Council go into executive session for its deliberations. The motion was
seconded by Councilman La Croix and unanimously carried.
The Councilmen had been furnished with copies of letters from various citizens on behalf of certain
of the proposed Council appointees. President McCall also commented on communications he had
received of a similar nature.
President McCall reported on the status of appointments and re-appointments to the Boards and Commis-
sions of the City. It was determined that formal action would be taken at the proper time in these
matters.
After considerable discussion, it was agreecl that this meeting would be continued to Thursday after-
noon, May 25, 1967, at 4:00 o'clock, for further consideration of the question of Council
appointments.
ADJOURNMENT:
2. There being no further business to come before the meeting, the Council adjourned, to assemble
in adjourned special session on Thursday afternoon, May 25, 1967, at 4:00 o'clock, in the Conference
Room, No. 303, of the City Hall.
