HELD TUESDAY EVENING, NOVEMBER 23, 1943
The meeting convened at 8:00 p. m. with President Godfrey presiding.
ROLL CALL:
The roll was called and. Councilmen Branscheid, Howe, Jones, Osborn and
President Godfrey, (5), were noted present. Absent: None.
MINUTES:
1. The minutes of the regular meeting of the Council, held November 16, 1943
were approved as transcribed.
REPORTS OF COMMITTEES:
2' the Mayor, City Manager and Auditor, submitting their report on the
Count of Money held. November 17, 1943, stating there was at that time the sum
of $979,874.04 in the City Treasury.
There being no objections, the report was ordered filed.
3. From Mr. Frank L. Small, tendering his resignation as a member of the Alameda
War Housing Center Committee.
Councilman Branscheid moved Mr. Small's resignation as a member of this commit-
tee be accepted with regret. The motion was seconded by Councilman Osborn and
unanimously carried.
ORDINANCES FOR INTRODUCTION:
4. Councilman Branscheid introduced the following ordinance, after which it
was laid over under provision of law and the Charter:
"Ordinance No.
New Series
An Ordinance Authorizing the Modification of the
Terms and Conditions of Lease Between the City of
Alameda and the United States of America Covering
Portions of the Alameda Municipal Golf Course."
RESOLUTIONS:
5. The following resolution was introduced by Councilman Branscheid, who moved
its adoption:
"Resolution No. 2934
Creating Certain Positions in the Recreation Department
of the City of Alameda and Prescribing the Duties of
Such Positions and of Certain Other Positions in Said.
Department."
The motion to adopt said resolution
call carried by the following vote.
Osborn and. President Godfrey, (5).
Mayor declared said resolution duly
was seconded by Councilman Howe and on roll
Ayes: Councilmen Branscheid, Howe, Jones,
Noes: None. Absent: None. Thereupon the
adopted and passed.
6. The following resolution was introduced by Councilman Jones, who moved its
adoption:
"Resolution No. 2935
Establishing Certain Positions of Employment in the
Recreation Department of the City of Alameda and.
Fixing the Rates of Compensation for Such Positions."
The motion to adopt said resolution was seconded by Councilman Branscheid and on
roll call carried by the following vote. Ayes: Councilmen Branscheid, Howe,
Jones, Osborn and. President Godfrey, (5). Noes: None. Absent: None. There-
upon the Mayor declared said resolution duly adopted and passed.
FILING:
7. Form of Modification of Lease - City of Alameda and. United. States
of America - Municipal Golf Course Property.
ADJOURNMENT:
8. There being no further business to transact, the Council adjourned to
assemble in regular session on Tuesday evening, December 7, 1943, at 8:00 p. m.
