The meeting convened at 0:00 p. m. with President Godfrey presiding.
ROLL CALL:
The roll was called and Councilmen Branscheid, Jones, Maurer and President
Godfrey, (4) , were noted nresent. Absent: Councilman Howe, (1).
WRITTEN CO11=CATIONS:
1. From Mr, L. C. Mann, conducting Hank Mann's Nursery at 2528 Blanding Avenue,
requesting that an ordinance be adopted limiting parking in front of his place of
fusiness to either fifteen minutes or one hour.
The matter was referred to the City Manager for investigation and report.

2. From the East Lay Division of the League of California Cities, giving notice of
its next dinner meeting to be held at Hotel Oakland on July 17, 1942.
The necessary orranHements for attendance at this dinner will be taken care of at a
later date.
REP'RTS OF COMMITTES:
3 From the Auditor and Assessor, F. J. Croll, in reply to a communication from Mr.
Earl L. Templeman requesting the cancellation of certain taxes, which was referred
to Mr. ()roll at the regular meeting of the Council held June 16, 1942.
r. Croll states that as the records of his office show Mr. Templeman awned only one-
half interest in the property involved for the years 1938, 1939 and 1940, it is im-
possible to allow full exemption as the other half interest stood in the name of
another party. Consequently no taxes can be cancelled or refunded. The City Clerk
was requested to so inform Mr. Templeman.

The motion to adopt said resolution was seconded by Councilman Maurer and on roll call
carried by the following vote. Ayes: Councilmen Branscheid, Jones, Maurer and Presi-
dent Godfrey, (4) . Noes: None, Absent: Councilman. Howe, (1) . Thereupon the Mayor
declared said resolution duly adopted and passed.
5. The following resolution was introduced by Councilman Jones, who moved its
adoption:
"Resolution No. 2768
Transferring '2,023.84 from the Initiative
Relief Fund to the General Fund of the City
of Alameda."
The motion to adont said resolution was seconded by Councilman Branscheid and on roll
call carried by the following vote. Ayes: Councilmen Dranscheid, Jones, Maurer and
President Godfrey, (4) . Noes: None. Absent: Councilman Howe, (1) . Thereupon the
Mayor declared said resolution duly adopted and passed.
6. The following resolution was introduced by Councilman Maurer, who moved its
adoption:
"Resolution No. 2769
Transferring 0 360 .00 from the Alcoholic
Beverage Control Fund to the General Fund
of the City of Alameda."
The motion to adopt said resolution was seconded by Councilman Jones and on roll call
carried by the following vote. Ayes: Councilmen Branscheid, Jones, Maurer and
President Godfrey, W. Nees: None. Absent: Councilman Howe, (1) . Thereupon the
Mayor declared said resolution duly e opted and passed.

Councilman Maurer moved the bills and claims against the City in the amounts listed and
itemized in the Listof Claims filed with the City Clerk on (Tune 23, 1942, and pre-
sented to the Council et this meeting, be allowed and paid. The motion was seconded
by Councilman Branscheid and on roll call carried by the following vote. Ayes:
Councilmen Branscheid, Jones, Maurer and President Godfrey, (4). Noes: None.

9. Councilman. Branscheid moved the Council adjourn to meet in adjourned regular session
on Monday morning, June 29, 1942, at 8:00 a. m- The motion was seconded by Councilman
Jones and unanimously carried.
