The meeting convened at :45 p. m. with President Godfrey presiding.
ROLL CALL:
The roll was called and Councilmen Branscheid, Jones and President Godfrey,
were noted present. Absent: Councilmen Howe and Maurer, (2)
REPORTS 02 CUAMITTNES:

1. From th e Housing Authority of the City o f Alameda, in the form of a resolution
passed at its regular meeting held September 16, 1942, requesting a loan in the sum
of P,,000. for preliminary expenditures to be incurred in discharging its responsibili-
ties as agents of the Federal eusing Authority, pending. reimbursement therefor by the
United States of America and to act as its agent in the development of approximately
two thousand war housing units.
There being no ohjections, the matter was referred to "Resolutions".
2. From Mayor Godfrey, nominating Er. Louis R— Gordon, 3038 Thompson Avenue, for
the office of member of the Library Board of the City of Alameda, for the term expir-
incr, June 30, 1947, which is the unexpired term. of Mr. Norman D. Weeden, resigned.
There being no objections, the matter was referred to "Resolutions".

3, Councilman Branscheid introduced the following ordinance, after which it was laid
over under provision of law and the Charter:

12-758, of Article 5, Chapter 7, Title XII of the
Alameda Municipal Code Relating to Trailer Camps."
4. The following resolution was introduced by CoLmci1m1n Branscheid, who moved its
adoption:
'Resolution No. 2793
Authorizing a Loan to the Housing Authority of the
City of Alameda and Appropriating the Sam of 2,000.
for Such Purpose."
The motion to adopt said resolution was seconded by Councilman Jones and on roll call
carried by the following vote. Ayes: Councilmen Branscheid, Jones and President
Godfrey, (3) . Noes: None. Absent: Councilmen Howe and Maurer, (2). Thereupon the
Mayor declared said resolution duly adopted and passed.
5. The following resolution was introduced by Councilman Jones, who moved its
adoption.:
'Resolution No. 2794
Appointing Member of the Library Board.

The motion to adopt said resolution was seconded by Councilman Branscheid and on roll
call carried by the following vote. Ayes: Councilmen Oranscheid, Jones and President
odfrey, (3) . Noes: None. Absent: Councilmen Howe and Maurer, (2) . Thereupon the
Mayor declared said resolution duly adopted and passed.
ADJOURNELINT:
6. There being no further business to come before the meeting, the Council adjourned
to assemble in regular session on Tuesday evening, October 6, 1942, at 8:00 p. m.
