The meetingconvened at 7:30 D. m, with President G Prey presiding.
ROLL CALL:
The roll was called and Councilmen Branscheid, Howe, Maurer and President Godfrey,
(4), wore noted present. Absent: Councilman Jones, (1).
WRITTEN COHLUNICATIONS:
1. From Lt. ComAr. J. C. Sease, stating that the ha Departmont, through the 2cC ific
Bridge Company, will need additional property adjacent to the present No. 2 Yard of
that company and the property . most suitable for its purpose is a portion of McKinley
Park which 1S known as Thompson. Field.
It is proposed that the City o2 Alameda lease this property. to the Navy Department,
tareagh Pacific Uridge Company, or that the Government tako this land over by condem
nation proceedings.' It is requested that the City of Alameda, however, consent to
lease this property voluntarily.
At this point, Councilman Jones arrived at the .meeting ard was noted present.
After discussion of the matter before the Council, •Councilman ea'snsclmaid stated that
as it seemed inevitable taat tae Government would, in one way or apmridle, acquire a
Portion of McKinley Park for the reasons stated above he would offer a motion that
the City Managor and City Attorney be aJithorized to proceed. to negotiate a loase with
L10 United States Government covering the desirod portion. of McKinley Park. The motion
was seconded. by Councilaan Maurer and unanimously carried.

From Hydraulic Dredging Company, Ltd., requesting that tne City of Alameda consent
to assignment of that certain permit issaed by the City of Alameda to tUe American
Dredging Company, dated Nirch 6, 1942, to the Fydraulic Dredging Company, Ltd- in order
that it might continuo the dredginF and fillipg for the United States Navy.
CommcKilliman Laarer then moved that the Mayer of the City of Alamoda be authorized to
execute on behalf of the City a written consent pormilmting assignment by the American
Drekiging Company' to the Hydraulic Dredging Comppny, Ltd., of that certain revocable
permit dated LEaT,D 6, 1942 arid authorized b Resojaptoi&a No. 2727 adopted March 3, 1942,
on the 00 L3%±. conditions:
That said assignment be in writing and a dup lea e original
thereof be deli -ered to the City of Alameda;

The motion was seconded Dy Councilman Jones and unanimously carried.
