OF ALAMEDA HELD TUESDAY EVENING, FEBRUARY 6th, 1934
The meeting convened at 8 o'clock with Council President Murray presiding
The roll was called and Councilmen Bruzzone, Eschen, Morris and President Murray, (4
were noted present. Absent: None.
The minutes of the regular meeting of January 16th, 1934, were read and approved.
/ Upon motion of Councilman Eschen, seconded by Councilman Morris and unanimously
carried, the regular order of business was changed to permit the opening of bids for
the wrecking of the building at 1019 Paru Street, located at Franklin Park, no bids ,
for this wrecking being received at the last meeting of the Council. Also, for the
opening of bids for the furnishing of sewer pipe. The bids of house wrecking were as
follows:

WRITTEN CO ICATIONS:
2. 4, From-the City Manager, accompanying financial statement of the budget finances
for the first six months of the fiscal year ending December 31st,1933. The communica-
tion was ordered filed.
i(3, v From Mrs. Mary Senna, requesting refund of alcoholic beverage license for the
quarter ending September 30th, 1933, with accompanying reportof investigation of the
Chief of Police. On motion of Councilman Bruzzone, seconded by Councilman Eschen and
unanimously carried, the request for refund was denied.
/Co/ Fram-the City Manager, informing the Council he had written to the Key System, Ltd,
consenting to the re-routing of the San Jose Motorcoach No. 64, during the reconstruc-
tion of the Park Street Bridge. The communication was ordered filed.
/ From Mrs. Ida Elliget, Publicity Chairman of the Alameda Mid-summer Flower Show,
requesting the contribution of $100.00 for the promotion of a flower show. On motion
of Councilman Bruzzone, seconded by Councilman Eschen and unanimously carried, the
request was denied, in view of the fact that the Council had recently made an appro-
priation to the Alameda Chamber of Commerce for all advertising. The communication
was filed.
Y/6 From Bay Cities Boat Market, requesting the lease of a strip of water and land
south of Government Island for the purpose of establishing a yacht harbor. On motion
of Councilman Mortis, seconded by Councilman Eschen and unanimously carried, the
communication was referred to the City Manager for investigation and recommendation,
to the Council.
UNFINBHED BUSINESS:
7.v The City Engineer recommended that the contract for wiecking building in Franklin
Park be awarded to Correa House Wrecking Co., on their bid of $33.00. On motion of
Councilman Morris, seconded by Councilman Bruzzone and unanimously carried, the Mayor
was authorized to enter into a contract with the successful bidder.
‘45./ The City Engineer recommended that contract be awarded to N. Clark & Sons for
2050 lin.ft. of vitrified ironstone sewer pipe at a price of $2697.80. On motion of
Councilman Bruzzone, seconded by Councilman Morris and unanimously carried, the
recommendation was adopted and the Mayor authorized to execute a contract for the
material. On motion of Councilman Eschen, seconded by Councilman Bruzzone and
unanimously carried, the Clerk was authorized to return the certified check to the
unsuccessful bidder.
RESOLUTIONS:
Councilman Morris introduced and moved the adoption of
"Resolution No. 1821
Transferring $2,500.00 from the Electric Light
Fund to the General Fund"
Councilman Eschen seconded the motion and on roll call it was carried unanimously.

On motion of Councilman Eschen, seconded by Councilman Morris, the bills
were, on roll call, passed unanimously, with the exception that Councilman
Bruzzone did not vote on the bills of Baker-Hamilton-Pacific Company.
There being no further business to transact, the Council adjourned, to meet
in regular session Tuesday evening, February 20th, 1934, at 8 o,clock.
