HELD WEDNESDAY EVENING, JANUARY 2nd .......... 1935
The meeting convened at 8 o'clock P.M. with President Murray presiding.
The roll was called and Councilmen Eschen, Roebke, Morris and President Murray,
(4) were noted present. Absent: Councilman Tiedemann, (1).
The minutes of the Adjourned Regular Meeting of December 20th, 1934, were read
and approved.
WRITTEN COMMUNICATIONS:
V 1./ From Mrs, A. Brictha of 2228 San Jose Avenue, requesting a temporary permit to
do upholstry repair work in the basement of her home. On motion of Councilman Eschen,
seconded by Gounciltan Morris and unanimously carried, the request was referred to
the City Planning Commission for hearing.
NEW BUSINESS:
if 2.1 Oh motion of Councilman Esahen, seconded by Councilman -Roebke and unanimously
carried, County Engineer Burnett Hamilton was re-appointed to represent the City of
Alameda as a member of the Board of Trustees of the Alameda County Mosquito Abatement
District.'
v 3./ On motion of Councilman Morris, seconded by Councilman Eschen, and unanimously
carried, City Attorney H. Albert George, Councilman James N. Eschen and Hans W.
Roebke were appointed a Committee to represent the City of Alameda at the hearing
on the San Francisco Bay Bridge to be held in Sacramento on January 3rd, 1935.
FILING:
i/ 4. The Clerk stated that since the last regular meeting the following paper had
been received for filing:
Financial Report,of Jordan & Ticoulet, showing Treasurer's Receipts
and Budget Expenditures for fiscal year as of November 30th,1934.
BILLS:
v' 5. An itemized list of claims against the City of Alameda and the several depart-
ments thereof in the total amounts as follows, was presented to the City Council:
General Departments, $378.66;,,Police Department, $19.64; Fire Department, $62.10;
Street Department, $1286.38; Health Department, $54.69; Park Department, $804.50;
Golf Course Department, $329.b5; Store Department, $2641.63; Social Service-
Recreation Department, $35.99; Initiative Relief Fund, $80.00; East Bay Municipal
Utility District Payments Fund 951.46.
Councilman Eschen moved, seconded by Councilman Roebke, and on roll call passed
unanimously, that the claims and bills against the City in the several amounts as
listed and itemized in the List of Claims against the City of Alameda and filed
with the City Clerk on January 2nd, 1935, and presented to the City Council at this
meeting, be allowed and paid.
There being no further business to transact, the Council adjourned to meet in
regular session on Tuesday evening, January 15th, 1935, at 8 o'clock P.M.
