HELD SATURDAY MORNING, AUGUST 17th 1935
The meeting convened at 9 o'clock A.M. with President Roebke presiding.
The roll was called and Councilmen Broyles, Munro and President Roebke, (3)
were noted present. Absent: Councilmen Eschen and Morris, (2).
RESOLUTIONS INTRODUCED:
1. Councilman Munro introduced and moved the adoption of
"Resolution No. 1976
Withdrawing Application for A.P.W. Grant and
Loan for the Sub-Aqueous Railway Tunnel, and
Substituting an Application for a Grant Only,"
Councilman Broyles seconded the motion and on roll call carried by the following vote:
Ayes: Councilmen Broyles, Munro and President Roebke, (3). Noes: None. Absent: '
Councilmen Eschen and Morris, (2).
2. ' Councilmen Broyles introduced and moved the adoption of
"Resolution No. 1977
A Resolution Authorizing the City of Alameda to
File an Application to the United States of
America through the Federal Emergency Administra-
tion of Public Works for a Grant to Aid in
Financing the Construction of a Sub-Aqueous Railway
Tunnel and Connections and Designating L.LiI.King,
Consulting Engineer to Furnish such Information
as the Government May Request,"
Councilman Munro seconded the motion and on roll call carried by the following vote:
Ayes: Councilmen Broyles, Munro and President Roebke, (3). Noes: None. Absent:
Councilmen Eschen and Morris, (2)
3. Councilman Munro introduced and moved the adoption of
"Resolution No. 1978
Authorizing the Employment of T. C. West to Assist
the City Attorney,"
Councilman Broyles seconded the motion and on roll call carried by the following
vote: Ayes: Councilmen Broyles, Munro and President Roebke, (3). Noes: None. Absent:
Councilmen Eschen and. Morris, (2).
4. There being no further business to transact, the Council adjourned to meet in
regular session on Tuesday morning, August 20th, 1935, at 11 o'clock A.M.
