HELD TUESDAY MORNING, DECEMBER 3rd, 935
The meeting convened at 11 o'clock A.M. with President Roebke presiding.
The roll was called and Councilmen Broyles,Eschen, Morris, Munro and President
Reobke,(5), noted present. Absent: None.
The minutes of the regular meeting of November 19th, and the minutes of the spec
meeting of November 21st, 1935, were read and approved.
COMMUNICATIONS:

V1.1f A communication was presented from the City Manager, advising that the specifications
for the new Branch Library to be erected at Santa Clara Avenue and Eighth Street have
incorporated therein the prevailing wage scale of the Alameda County Building Trades
Council. There being no objeetion, the communication was ordered filed.
.v From the Board of Public Utilities Commissioners, submitting a resolution requesting
the City Council to rezone property on its own motion for use as a Sub-Station, and
requesting definite action be taken. Councilman Broyles moved that the communication
be filed and not read, seconded by Councilman Munro and on roll call carried by the
following vote: Ayes: Councilmen Broyles, Munro and President Roebke, (3). Noes:
Coun9ilmen Eschen and Morris, (2). Absent: None.

rezoning for Sub-Station of property on Eagle Avenue between Grand and Minturn Streets.
There being no objection, the communication and petitions were ordered filed.
vl.// From the City Planning Commission, recommending the reclassification of property
known as 1511 Everett Street, from a Residential District, Glass I, to a Residential
District, Class lei. Councilman Broyles moved that the recommendation of the City Plan-
ning Commission be concurred in, seconded by Councilman Eschen, and on roll call carried
by the following vote: Ayes: Councilmen Broyles, Eschen, Morris, Munro and President
Roebke, (5). Noes: None. Absent: None.
/ From the City Planning Commission, recommending the reclassification of certain
property situated on the northwest corner of Pacific Avenue and Walnut Street, from
Residential District, Class I, to Business District, Class III. Councilman Eschen
moved that the recommendation of the City Planning Commission be concurred in, seconded
by Councilman Broyles, and on roll call carried by the following vote: Ayes: Councilmen
Broyles, Eschen, Morris, Munro and President Roebke, (5). Noes: None. Absent: None.

known as 1710 Santa Clara Avenue, from Residential District, Class I, to Special
District, Class IV. Councilman Eschen moved that the recommendation of the City
Planning Commission be concurred in, seconded by Councilman Morris, and on roll call
carried by the following vote: Ayes: Councilmen Broyles, Eschen, Morris, Munro and
President Roebke, (5). Noes: None. Absent: None.

last regular meeting of the Commission, with regard to transportation problem confront-
ing City of Alameda with the opening of the Trans-Bay Bridge. Councilman Broyles
moved that the matter be referred to Lochiel M. King, the City Attorney, Wm. J. Locke,
and to the City Engineer,George E.'Sperbeek, as a Committee, seconded by Councilman
Munro and on roll call carried by the following vote: Ayes: Councilmen Broyles, Eschen,

salary of the Chief of Police, and commenting upon various other matters, Councilman
Broyles moved that the communication be filed and not read, seconded by Councilman

and President Roebke, (3). Noes: Councilmen Eschen and Morris, (2). Absent: None.

priate the sum of $75.00 for the purchase of equipment for the Junior Traffic Police.

ordinance prohibiting all parking on Bank Street. Councilman Munro moved that the
matter be referred to the City Manager for investigation and to the City Attorney to

for the purchase of a new automobile for the Chief of the Fire Department. There
being no objection, the communication was ordered filed.

Vista Avenue. As the matter ie already in the hands of the City Manager and the
City Attorney, the communication was ordered filed.

Councilman Munro moved, seconded by Councilman Broyles, that the claims and bills against

and paid. Councilman Eschen objected to the payment of warrant to Tom King. On
roll call motion to pay bills carried by the following vote: Ayes: Councilmen Broyles,
Eschen, Munro and President Roebke, (4). Noes: Councilman Morris, Absent: None.
