1936-02-24 Adjourned Regular CC MinutesADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA HELD MONDAY AFTERNOON, FEBRUARY 24th . . . . .... . 1936 The meeting convened at 2 o'clock P.M. with President Roebke presiding. The roll was called, and Councilmen Broyles, Munro and President Roebke, (3), were noted present. Absent: Councilmen Eschen and Morris, (2). COMMUNICATIONS: 1. From the City Manager, B. Ray Fritz, submitting plans and specifications covering proposal for improvement of Maitland Drive, consisting of resurfacing the pment pavement and incidental work, all to be paid from the first 1/4 cent gas tax money, and recommend- ing that the City Clerk be instructed to advertise for bids on this work. Councilman Munro moved that the Council concur in the City Manager's recommendation, seconded by Councilman Broyles and on roll call carried by the following vote Ayes: Councilmen Broyles Munro and President Roebke, (3). Noes: None. Absent: Councilmen Eschen and Morris, (2). 27 From the City Manager, requesting permission to appoint an Inspector on the Branch Public Library Construction project, and recommending that salary be set not to exceed 4250.00 per month. Councilman Broyles moved that the Council adopt the City Manager's recommendations, seconded by Councilman Munro and on roll call carried by the following vote: Ayes: Councilmen Broyles, Munro and President Roebke,(3). Noes: None. Absent: Councilmen Eschen and Morris, (2). 3.1 From the City Manager, relative to the creation of position of Superintendent of Construction for the installation of the sprinkler system at the Golf Course, at a salary of $250.00 per month. Councilmen Munro moved that the Council concur in the recommendations of the City Manager, seconded by Councilman Broyles and on roll call carried by the following vote: Ayes: Councilmen Broyles, Munro and President Roebke, (3). Noes: None. Absent: Councilmen Eschen and Morris, (2). 4./ From the City Manager, relative to sites for the proposed stadium and requesting authority to immediately file application for its construction with the Works Progress Administration. Councilman Broyles moved that,inasmuch as this matter should be dis- cussed by all members of the Council, and as it effects the entire City, consideration of the stadium be laid over until the next regular meeting of the Council. The motion was seconded by Councilman Munro and on roll call carried by the following vote: Ayes: Councilmen Broyles, Munro and President Roebke, (3). Noes: None. Absent: Councilmen Eschen and Morris, (2). 5. ORDINANCE PASSED: "Ordinance No. New Series Councilman Munro Broyles, and on Munro and Presid 6. There being regular session An Ordinance Amending Section 31 of an Ordinance Entitled 'Establish- ing Districts or Zones and Regulating therein the Use of Property, Height of Buildings, and Required Open Spaces for Light and Ven- tilation of Such Buildings and Repealing all Ordinances in Conflict herewith, including Ordinances Nos. 227; N.S., 319, N.S., and 338 N.S.,Excepting, However, the Zone Map heretofore Adopted by Ordinance No. 227, N.S., and Referred to in Section (1) Hereof', Relative to Public Buildings and Property," moved that the ordinance as read be adopted, seconded by Councilman roll call carried by the following vote: Ayes: Councilmen Broyles, ent Roebke, (3). Noes: None. Absent; Councilmen Eschen and Morris,(2). no further business to transact, the Council adjourned to meet in on Tuesday morning, March 3rd, 1936, at 11 o'clock A.M.
