TUESDAY EUNING, MARCH 9TH, 1926.
The meeting convened at 8 o'clock P. M. with Council-President Otis presiding.
The roll was called and Councilmen Latham, Neiss, Noble, Traver and President
Otis, (5) were noted present. Absent: None.
The minutes of the regular meeting of March 2nd, 1926, were approved as read.
1./ A communication was received from the Golf Commission, recommending the accept-
ance of Alternate "A" bid of the Stephen Smith Company, for the installation of a
Sprinkler System on the. Golf Course. at a price of $23,350.00. The Commission also
recommended that thirty-six additional sprinklers to the original specifications be
added, at an additional cost of $500.00, making the total contract $23,850.00. The
communication was ordered filed. Thereupon Mr. Latham introduced and moved the
adoption of
"Resolution No. 1008.
Awarding Contract for Sprinkler System on Golf Course."
Mr. Neiss seconded the motion to adopt the Resolution and on roll call it was adopted ani
passed unanimously.
2.1 Mr. Traver introduced and moved the adoption of
"Resolution No. 1009.
Appropriating $25.00 per month for Automobile
for Assessor."
Mr. Noble seconded the motion to adopt the Resolution and on roll call it was adopted and
passed by the following vote, to wit:- Aye st Councilmen Latham, Neiss, Noble and Traver,
(4). Noes: Council-president Otis, (1). Absent: None.
An application for a permit to sell soft drinks was received from the Pon Honor,
Inc. at 1205 Park Street. This application having received the approval of Chief of
Police Wahmuth, Mr. Neiss introduced and moved the adoption of
"Resolution No. 1010.
Granting a Permit for a License to Sell Soft Drinks."
Mr. Traver seconded the motion to adopt the Resolution and on roll call it was adopted
and passed unanimously.
The following papers were filed:
Report of the War Department, U. 8. Engineering Corps, on public hearings
of San. Francisco Bay Bridges.

Bids on Sprinkler System, Municipal Golf Course.
The following communications were received:
Trom the City of Milwaukee, re national prohibition act. Mr. Latham moved
hat the communication be filed, seconded by Mr. Traver and carried.
7/ Trom D. J. Sueell, requesting permission to remove two cottages now situated
on the west side of Grand Street, between Eagle and Clernent Avenues. This communication
was referred to the City Manager.
8.v From Andrew T. Haas, requesting permiSsion to move a building A and
garage now
located at 1708 Palmera Court. Upon the recommendation of the City Manager, Mr. Latham
moved that the request be granted, seconded by Mr. Traver and carried.
9.v/ From Heafey, Moore & McNair, petitioning the council for permission to im-
prove Clay Street, from the easterly line of Regent Street to a point two hundred and
sixty-six feet more or less easterly therefrom. Mr. Neiss moved that the request be
granted, seconded by Mr. Noble and carried unanimously.
10. The City Manager made a verbal report re opening of Blanding Avenue, through
to pearl Street. After discussion, Mx. Traver moved that the council signify its
willingness to have Blanding Avenue opened in accordance with the request of the Loop
Lumber Company, and that the matter be left in the hands of the City Manager for
further report, seconded by Mr. Noble and carried unanimously.
There being no further business to transact, the council adjourned to meet in
regular session, Tuesday evening, March 16th, 1926 at 8 o'clock P. M.
