OF ALAIJEDA, THURSDXY, JULY19TH, 1928.
The roll was called and. Councilmen Calcutt Latham, Neiss, Noble and
President Otis, (5) were noted present.
The members discussed' with representatives of the an rancisco Airdrome
Inc., the matter of the location of an airport site on the University of
California property.
?he council convened at 8;25 with Council-president Otis presiding.
Mr. Calcutt moved that inasmuch as there was no application before the
council relative to the establishment of an airport site by the an Francisco
Airdrome, Inc., on the University of California property, that they proceed
in the usual manner, through their representative, Mr. Roy Hudson, make
request to the Planning Commission for the reclassification of the property
in accordance with their desires. The motion was seconded by Mr. Neiss and
same carried unanimously.
Mr. Calcutt brought to the attention of the council the necessity far
the city acquiring ownership of the end of pacific Avenue to the boundary line
and moved that the City Attorney, City Manager and City Engineer immediately
start proceedings to acquire the same on behalf of the city. The motion was
seconded by Mr. Latham and carried unanimously.
Mr. Calcutt reported that the committee of the council aprointed to
interview the County Board of supervisors relativ e to an appropriate allo-
cation of the gasoline tax money for the replacement of the estuary bridges
and stated that at a meeting of the Board of Supervisors an amount of 500,000
had been set aside for this purpose. Mr. Calcutt then moved that the City
Manager renew correspondence with the County Board of Supervisors in an en-
deavor to have the bridges replaced. The motion was seconded by Mr. Latham
and carried unanimously.
There being no further business to transact the Council adjourned to
meet in regular session, Tuesday evening, August 7th, 1928, at 8 o'clock.
