MEETING OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA
FRIDAY EVENING, FEBRUARY 13TH, 1931.
The meeting convened at 8 P. M. with Council-president Schaefer presiding.
The roll was called and Councilmen Brodersen, Calcutt and. President Schaefer
(3) were noted present. Absent: Councilmen Henning and. Latham, (2).
1. Mr. Brodersen moved that H. D. Tearle be appointed City Clerk pro tem
in the absence of Mr. Varcoe, seconded by Mr. Calcutt and carried unanimously.
2.! The Clerk offered for filing the affidavit of service and a copy of the call
for the special meeting.
3.v1 A communication was received from the Pension Committee of the Fire and
Police Departments accompanied by petitions requesting the withdrawal from the
ballot of the General Municipal election to be held March 10, 1931, the proposed
amendments to the Pension Ordinance. Capt. Thomas M. Lane, representing the
Committee addressed the council relative to the proposed amendments. After
discussion, Mr. Brodersen introduced un moved the adoption of
"Resolution No. 1577.
Resolution Withdrawing Certain Proposals."
Mr. Calcutt seconded the motion to adopt the Resolution and on_roll call it was
adopted and passed by the following vote:- Ayes: Councilmen Brodersen, Calcutt
and. President Schaefer, (3). Noes: None. Absent: Councilmen Henning and. Latham,
(2).
There being no further business to transactthe Council adjourned to meet
in regular session, Tuesday evening, February 17th, 1931 at 8 o'clock.
