WRITTEN COMMUNICATIONS:
87 -44 From Housing Authority Executive Director regarding Affordable
Housing Agreement.
Ed Murphy, 2618 Janis Circle, stated he is in favor of the Pope and
Webster Street senior housing, believes there is confusion in the
affordable housing agreement in the terms "very low income" and "low
income ", and that moderate income should be between 81% to 120 %, not
100% to 120 %, of median income; and would like to be notified of
hearings on the new agreement.
Fred Scullin, 1120 Chestnut Street, stated Park and Webster Street
businesses are moving to Alameda Marina Village; no funds are
committed for very low income housing; and believes City should revise
agreement with Alameda Marina Village.
Chairman Corica stated one of the reasons for acting on this matter, is
that if funds are shifted, there would be an affect on the reduction of
rents for the Senior Citizen housing.
Commissioner Thomas agreed that she does not like shifting money but in
this case it may be more cost effective and of greater benefit to more
people.
Commissioner Monsef made a motion to accept the communication and
