1925-01-13 Regular CC MinutesADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA, TUESDAY EVENING, JANUARY 13TH, 1925. The meeting convened at 7:30 p. m. with Council-president Otis presiding. The roll was called and. Councilmen Latham, Probst and President Otis, (3), were noted present. Absent: Councilmen Neiss and Tilden ,(2). The following communications were received: From Mayor Fran k Otis advising of the appointment of Lochiel M. King as a member of the City Planning Commission for a five year term, beginning January 1, 1925. Ordered filed. From Dr. L. Peters, re parking of automobiles. Ordered filed. From the League of California Municipalities re division of regular sessions of the Legislature into two periods. Mr. Latham moved that the communication be re- ferred to the City Attorney to prepare a resolution in accordance with the request, seconded by Mr. Probst and carried. From City Attorney Locke, re payment of income tax by employees of publicly owned utilities. Ordered filed. Mr. Latham introduced and moved the adoption of "Resolution No. 833. Resolution on the Ruling that Employees of Publicly owned Utilities are Subject to Income Tax." Mr. Probst seconded the motion to adopt the Resolution and on roll call it was adopted and passed unanimously. A Bill entitled. 2./ 3. 4. 5.1 6.\/ 8.V "A Bill For Or No. N. S. An Ordinance Consenting to the Establishment as a Part of the County System of Highways of Alameda County of All of that Certain HighWay in the City of Alameda, Consisting of a Portion of Webster Street and all of Work Street." came up for passage and was read by the Clerk. Mr. Probst moved that the ordinance as read be adopted, seconded by Nr. Latham and on roll call it was adopted and passed unanimously. . Council Neiss arrived and took his chair at the council table. Mr. Robert Strehlo Sr., was present and addressed the Council relative to the building buliding of a series of summer homes on the fill just completed at Neptune Beach Park. After discussion, a Bill entitled For "A Bill Ordinance No. New Series. An Ordinance Regulating the Cohstruction of summer Cottages Built on Tidelands." was introduced and laid over under a provision of the Charter. Yr. Latham moved that it be the sense of the council that this ordinance be passed at its next regular meeting, seconded by Er. Probst and carried unanimously. A Bill entitled For "A Bill Ordinance No New Series. January 13, 1925. 9.' An application was read from J. H. Baxter & Co. for permission to run a spur track to connect with the city's railroad on Clement Avenue between Walnut and Willow Streets. After discussion Mr. Latham introduced and moved the adoption of "Resolution No. 834. Granting J. H. Baxter & Go. Permission to Con- Stru u a Spur Track on Clement Avenue." Er. seconded the motion to adopt the Resolution and on roll call it was obs adopted and passed unanimously. There being no further business to transact the Council adjourned to meet in regular session, Tuesday evening, January 20th, 1925, at 8 o'clock P. M. Respectfully submitted,
