1924-04-01 Regular CC MinutesREGULAR MEETING OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA, TUESDAY EVENING, APRIL IST, 1924. The meeting convened at 8 P. M. with Council-president Otis presiding. The roll was called and. Councilmen Adams, Latham, Probst, Tilden and President Otis, (5) were noted present. Absent:None. The minutes of the adjourned regular meeting of March 25, 1924, were approved as read. The minutes of the regular meeting of March 18, 1924, were approved as read. Mr. Probst introduced and moved the adoption of "Resolution No. 734. Transferring 2718,75 from the Electric Light Fund to the Interest and Redemption Fund." Mr. Latham seconded the motion to adopt the Resolution and on roll call it was adopted and passed unanimously. Mr. Latham inuroduced and moved the adoption of "Resolution No. 735. ansferring 322,636.00 from the Electric Light Fund to the General Fund.." Mr. Probst seconded the motion to adopt the Resolution and on roll call it was adopted and passed unanimously. 3•\/ Mr. Latham introduced and moved the adoption of "Resolution No. 736. Transferring U920.63 from the Electric Light Fund to the General Fund." Mr. Probst seconded the motion to adopt the Resolution and on roll call it was adopted nd passed unanimously. 4d Mr.. Probst introduced the following Resolution and moved its adoption: "Resolution No. 737. Transferring 450.00 from the Electric Light Fund to the G-eneral Fund." Mr. Latham seconded the motion to adopt the Resolution and on roll call it was adopted and passed unanimously. M.r.Latham introduced the following Resolution and moved its adoption: "Resolution No. 738. Transferring '13500.00 from the Electric Light Fund to the General Fund." Mr. Probst seconded the motion to adopt the Resolution and on roll call it was adapted and passed unanimous 6.' Mr. Tilden introduced and moved the adoption of "Resolution No. 739. Transfer4ng '35001,00 from the General Fund to the Compensation Insurance Fund." Mr. Probst seconded the motion to adopt the Resolution and on roll call it was adopted and passed unanimously. . Mr. Latham introduced and moved the adoption of cTh April lst,1924. Mr. Probst seconded the motion tD adopt the Resolution and on roll call it was adopted and passed unanimously. The following were received: Report of the Municipal Electric Light Plant for the month of January, 1924. Ordered filed. Oath of office of Chas. M. Elaric as polisce officer. Ordered filed. The following coinrnunioations were received: 10.■/1 From the City Planning Commission recommending denial of petition for reclassification of pro-erty at the southeast corner of Central Avenue and Fountain Street. Ordered filed. 11. From Christ Episcopal Church, re reclassification of property at the south- east corner of Central Avenue and Fountain Street. After discussion, Mr Latham moved that the communication be filed and that the matter be remanded back to the City Planning Commission for rehearing, seconded by Mr. Tilden and carried. From the Mayor, Auditor and City Manager re count of money. Ordered filed. From Hutchinson Company, requesting permission to grade, curb, gutter and macadamize and otherwise improve Court Street, between the southern line of San Jose Avenue and the northern line of Fillmore Street; Adams Street from the eastern line of Mound Street and the western line of Post Street and Washington Street, from the western line of Court Street to the western termination of Wash- ing Street, under private contract. Mr. Latham moved that the request be granted, seconded by Mr. Probst and earried. unanimously. From the League of California Municipalities, re appointment of one or more delegates to attend a Regional Plan Conference in the City of San Francisco on April 11, 1924. After discussion, Mr. Latham moved that the Manager and Council accept the invitation, seconded by Mr. Probst and carried. 15.V From the Western Pacific Railroad and the Atchison, Topeka and. Santa Fe Railway Company, accompanied by a map containing offer for the municipal belt line railway. Mr. Tilden moved that the communication be referred to a meeting of the Committee of the Whole and that copies be forwarded to each Councilmen seconded by Mr. Probst and carried. 16. V Zr. Lochiel M. King, President of the City Planning Commission, addressed the Coaneil relative to the position taken be, the Commission regarding the future disposition of the Belt Line Railway and stated that the Commission was on record as not being favorable to the disposing of the line to any Company, but a pact should,be formed with the railroad companies interested such as is now in operation between the Belt Line Railroad of San Francisco and the railroad companies. 17 . City Attorney Locke submitted a Supplementary Agreement between the City of Alameda and the Contra Costa Hog Company, relative to the present contract held by the City of Alameda with the Contra Costa Hog Company, Inc. After beina read by the Clerk, Mr. Latham moved that the City Manager be authorized to sign such Supplementary Agreement, seconded by Mr. Tilden and carried.
