1924-04-22 Regular CC MinutesADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA,
TUESDAY EVENING, APRIL 22ND, 1924.
The meeting convened at 8 o'clock with Council- president Otis presiding.
The roll was called and Councilmen Adams, Latham, Probst, Tilden and President
Otis, (5) were noted present.,
1., The affidavit of publication of Notice of Sale of School Bonds was received
and ordered filed.
The following communications were received:
2.vr From the Mayor, advising of the reappointment of George S. Willi s as
a member of the Board of Education. Ordered filed.
From the Mayor, advising of the reappointment of M. J. White as amember
of the Board of Free library Trustees. Ordered filed.
4.1 From Mrs. Beulah E. Spunn, advising of the resignation of Miss Zdenka
Buben, as Secretary of the Alameda City Health Center, and the appointment of her-
self to fill the vacancy. Mr. Latham moved that the communication be referred to
the City Attorney, seconded by Mr. Probst and carried.
From Zdenka Buben, advising of the audit of the books of the Alameda
City Health Center for the period ending March 31, 1924. Ordered filed.
From the Alaka Packers Association, requesting permission to install
spur tracks connecting with the Belt Line Railroad into their property. Mr. Probst
moved that permission be granted under supervision of the City Manager, seconded
by Mr. Latham and carried.
7.t.% From the Southern Pacific Company refusing the verbal request of the
City Manager for pole line right of way. After discussion, Mr. Latham moved that
the matter be referred to a meeting of the Committee of the Whole, seconded by
Mr. Probst and carried.
Mr. Probst introduced and moved the adoption of
"Resolution No. 747.
Transferring $6,000.00 from the General Fund
to the School Fund."
Mr. Latham seconded the motion to adopt the Resolution and on roll call it was
adopted and passed unanimously.
9.1 Mr. Latham introduced and moved the adoption of
Resolution No. 748.
Authorizing Mayor to Execute Contract with
Architect for Lincoln School."
Mr. Probst seconded the motion to adopt the Resolution and on roll call it was adopt-
ed and passed unanimously.
There being no further business to transact the Council adjourned to meet in
regular session, Wednesday evening, May 7th, 1924, at 8 o'clock P. M.
