ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING OF'THE COUNCIL OF TUE CITY OF ALAMEDA,
FRIDAY EVENING, MAY 9TH, 1924.
• The meeting convened at 7:30 P. M. with Council-president Otis presiding.
The roll was called and Councilmen Adams, Latham, Prast Tilden and. President
Otis, (5), were noted present. Absent: None.
In the matter of the hearing of the Alameda Park Company to deposit dredged
material upon their lands, Mr. Robert Strehlow, Sr., was present and stated the
position and desires of the Alameda Park Company in the present dredging applica-
tion. Mr. Marston Campbell, employed by Mr. Strehlow as Engineer of the project,
assured the Council that every precaution maid be taken to prevent damage to
adjoining property owners. Mr. Gerald. Hagar, representing the protestants filed
a petition of protest and ainst addressed the Council relative thereto. Messrs.'
Agnew, end Morris, and. Mrs. Schaarschmidt addressed the Council in protest. Messrs.
Squires and White, Engineers, addressed the Council in support of the contentions
of Mr. Hagar. After considerable discussion, Mr. Tilden moved that the application
of the Alameda Park Company be granted and that all work done be subject to the
approval and under the immediate control of the City Manager and City Engineer,
and that they see the work is done in such a way as not to injure adjoining
propert3ipolders seconded by Mr. Latham and on roll call carried unanimously.
There being no further business to transact the Council adjourned to meet
in regular session Tuesday evening, May 20th, 1924 at 8 o'clock P. M.
