TUESDAY2VEEING, JANUARY 23, 1923.
The meeting convened at 8 o'clock P. M. with Council-president Otis
presiding.
The roll was called and Councilmen Adams, Latham Probst and. Council-president
Otis was noted present. Absent: Councilman Tilden, (1).
A communication was received from the City Council of Oakland, regarding
the construction of the highway over Bay Farm Island, was read and ordered filed.
A communication from the Board of Supervisors, re Bay Farm Island. Road
read. hr. Latham moved that the Mayor and City Eamager be appointed as a
Committee to discuss with like Committees of the City of Oakland and the County
Board of Supervisors the matter of the construction of such a road, seconded by
Mr. Probst and carried.
A communication was received from the Executive Board of the Alameda City
Health Center, recomTending that all bids for the construction of the proposed
health center be rejected and that all certified cehcks be returned to the
bidders. Mr. Probst moved that the racomrnenation be adopted, seconded by Mr.
Latham and carried.
A communication was received from Mayor Frank Otis, appointing Lochiel M.
Ming, Walter G. Tibbitts, H. F. Schlichting, Edward S. Babue and. Augustus C. reane,
members of the City Planning ComTission. Ordered filed.
Mr. Latham moved that in as much as the contract with the Pacific Hog
Company for the purchase ofgp,rbage would soon expire, the city clerk be instructed
to advertise for bids relative to the sale of same, seconded by Mr. Probst and
carried.

Mr. Latham moved that the City Manager be authorized to build a.coMfort
station at Franklin Park to cost approximately 496.00, seconded by Mr. Probst and
on roll call carried unanimously.
Er. Probst moved that the City Attorney draw up a Resolution opposing the bill
which has been introduced in the legislature to compel cities owning and operating
heir public utilities to sell such utilities to the consumers at cost, seconded by
Mr. Latham and carried.
There being no further business to transact the Council adjonrned to
meet in regular cession Tuesday evening, February 6th, 1923 at 8 o'clock.
