1923-03-27 Regular CC MinutesADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA, TUESDAY EVENING; MARCH 27th, 1923. The meeting convened at 8 :00 p. m. with Council- president Otis presiding. The roll was called and Councilmen Adams, Latham, Probst, Tilden and President Otis, (5) were noted present. Absent: None. The contract and bond of the Contra Costa Hog Company was received and ordered filed. The following communication were received: From the League of California Municipalities, re the State Motor Vehicle Act. Ordered filed. From the League of California Municipalities re resolution concerning soline tax and motor vehicle fiord. Ordered filed. Mr. Latham thereupon intro- duced the following Resolution and moved its adoption: "Resolution No. 620. Resolution in Re: Gasoline Tax and Motor Vehicle Fund." Mr. Probst seconded the motion to adopt the Resolution and on roll call it was adopted and passed unanimously. From the Alameda County Board of Supervisors, re 70th Anniversary of the establishment of Alameda County. Ordered filed. From the Executive Board of the Alameda City Health Center, re award of bids. Ordered filed. From E. K. Taylor, protesting raise of Webster Street grade. Mr. Latham moved that the communication be referred to the Committee of the Whole, seconded by Mr. Probst and carried. 7 ✓ Mr. Probst introduced the following Resolution and moved its adoption: "Resolution No. 621. Consenting to Withdrawal of Bid." Mr. Latham seconded the motion to adopt the Resolution and on roll call it was adopted and passed unanimously. Mr. McIntosh, for the firm of McIntosh Bros., filed an affidavit pertaining to their recent bid for the construction of the new Health Center building, wherein he stated an estimate of $2600.00 was given him for the travertine, instead of the low estimate of $1600.00, give other contractors. The affidavit was ordered filed. Mr. Latham introduced the following Resolution and moved its adoption: "Resolution No. 622. Resolution of Award." McIntosh Bros.) Mr. Probst seconded the motion to adopt the Resolution and on roll call it was adopted and passed unanimously. 10v Mr. Probst introduced the following Resolution and moved its adoption: "Resolution No. 623. RESOLUTION OF AWARD." Zelinsky) Mr. Latham seconded the motion to adopt the Resolution and on roll call it was adopted and passed unanimously. 14.7 Rev. D. 0. Colegrove was present in the Council Chamber and explained the desires of the trustees of the Methodist Church to reclassify the western ten feet of their property holdings on the northwest corner of Central Avenue and Oak Street. Thereupon Mr. Latham introduced the following Resolution and moved its adoption: "Resolution No. 627. Proposing to Change or Reclassify Property on the Council ' s Own Initiative." Mr. Tilden seconded the motion to adopt the Resolutionland on roll call * adopted and passed unanimously. A communication was read from Mrs. E. O. Schetter, President of the Alameda Federation of Parent-Teachers Association, relative to the dance ordinance. Mt. Robert Strehlow, Sr., and many ladies of the Alameda Parent-Teachers Association were present in the Council chamber and discussed the matter, after which upon motion it was referred to a meeting of the Committee of the Whole. There being no further business to transact the Council adjourned to meet in regular session, Tuesday evening, April 3rd, 1923, at 8 o'clock Respectfully submitted, City Clerk
