1923-04-09 Regular CC MinutesSPECIAL MEETING OF THE C OUITC IL OF THE CITY OF ALANIEDA, MONDAY EVENING, APRIL 9TH, 1923. The meeting convened at 7:30 P. M. with Council—president Otis presiding. The roll was called and Councilmen Adams Latham, Probst and President Otis, (4) were noted present. Absent: Councilman Tilden, (1). President Otis explained to the Council the reason for the calling of tbe special meeting. The City Clerk read the certificate of M. S. O'Keefe, who delivered the call of the special meeting to the councilmen. Ordered filed. A communication was read from the an Francisco Chamber of Commerce, wherein they agreed to underwrite the expense incident to the placing of the Alameda Naval Base project on the ballot at an election to be held May 8th, at a cost of approximately 1750.00. Ordered filed. Mr. Latham introduced the following Resolution and moved its adoption: "Resolution No 631. A Resolution calling and Providing for, and. Giving notice of a Special Election to be held in the City of Alameda, State of California, on Tuesday, the Eighth Day of May, 1923, for the Purpose of Submitting to the Electors of said City, a Proposition to Grant Certain. Tide and Submerged Lands to the United. States of America for the Purposes of a Naval Base." Mr. Adam seconded the motion to adopt the Resolution and on roll call it was adopted and passed. unanimously. There being no further business to transact, the Council adjourned to meet in regular session, Tuesday evening, April 17th, 1923 at 80clock . Respectfully submitted, City Clerk.
