1922-04-04 Regular CC MinutesREGULAR MEETING OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA,
TUESDAY EVENING, APRIL, 4TH, 1922.
The meeting convened at 8 o'clock with Council-president Otis presiding
The roll was called and Councilmen Adams, Latham, Probst, Tilden and President
Otis, (5) were noted present. Absent: None.
The minutes of the regular meeting of March 2lst, 1922 were approved as read.
The minutes of the adjourned regular meeting of March 27th, 1922 were approved
as read.
V/ Mr. Probst introduced the following Resolution and moved its adoption:
"Resolution No. 474.
Transferring 02700.55 from the Electric Light Fund
to the General Fund."
Mr. Latham seconded the motion to adopt the Resolution and on roll call it was ad.opted
and passed unanimously.
21/7 Mr. Probst introduced the following Resolution and moved its adoption:
"Resolution U0s 475®
Transferring 02906.25 from the Electric Light Fund
to the Interest and Redemption Fund."
Mr. Latham seconded the motion to adopt the Resolution and on roll call it was adopted
and passed unanimously.
3v/ Mr. Probst introduced the following Resolution and moved its adoption:
"Resolution No. 476.
Transferring 500.00 from the General Fund to the
Council Relief Fund."
Mr. Latham seconded the motion to adopt the Resolution and on roll call it was adopted
and passed unanimously.
The Affidavit of publication of Notice to Bidders, re construction of comfort
station at Jashington Park was presented and ordered filed.
The following communications were received:
From C. E. Hickok, Secretary of the Police Pension Fund Commission, stating
that that body recommends to the council that a competent actuary be employed to re-
port upon the present status a:(' future operation of the police and fire pension funds.
Mr. Tilden moved that the matter be referred to the City Manager with power to act,
seconded by Mr. Latham and on roll call carried unanimously.
From 7. C. Sharpsteen, suggesting a name for the new park. Mr. Latham muved
that the letter be filed seconded by Mr. Probst and carried.
7V7 From the Western Union Telegraph Company, re the telephoning of messages to
the addressee. Ordered filed.
)7 A Bill entitled
"A Bill
For Ordinance No. New Sories.
Prohibiting- Fire Works in the City of Alameda."
came up for passage and was read by the Clerk. Mr. Tilden moved that the ordinance
be adopted, seconded by Mr. Latham and on roll call carried unanimously.
April 4th, 1922.
91 The Clerk stated that he had received no bids for the construction of a comfort
station at Washington Park, whereupon Mr. Latham moved that the Clerk re-advertise
and that bids ba.opened at the text regular meeting of .the Council to be .held
• April 18th, 1922, seconded by hr. Probst and carried..
The City Manar stated that he was unable to report on the opening of Versailles
Avenue, as it had been impossible to meet with Mt. Cohen.

specifications for the improvement of Bay Farm Island RoadT,zy, and that a Resolution
of Intention be prepared in accordance therewith, seconded by Mr. Probst and carried.
Claims against the General Departments amounting to 01008.60; against the
Police Department amounting to 0120.56; against the Fire Department amounting to
0285.21; a-4inst the Street Department amounting to 2572.21; ainst the Health
Department amounting to 0142.21; against the Recreation Department amounting to
$416.72; against the Store Department amounting to 04.51; against the Relief Fund
amounting to $527.561 against the Electric Light Fund amounting to t7617.31; against
the Fire Pension Fund amounting.to t228.00 and against the Police Pension Fund amount
ing to A412.25, having been approved and audited by the proper officials were listed
