1922-05-16 Regular CC MinutestJ REGULAR MEETING OF THE COUNCIL OF T 21 2 TUESDAY EVENING, MAY 16TH 2. OF OP A1D A,' The meeting convened at 8 o'clock, with Council-presiaent Otis presiding. The roll was called and Councilmen Adams, Latham, Probst, Tilden and. President Otis, (5) were noted present. Absent; None. The minutes of the regular meeting of May 2nd, 1922, were approved as read. The following were received: Bond of J. W. Price, as Collector, Municipal Ele ctric Light Plant. Ordered filed. Oath of office of Clyde P. Guy, as Special Police Officer. Ordered fi ed. Affidavit of publication of notice to Bidders, re comfort station at Washington Park. Ordered filed. Mr. Probst introduced the following Resolution and moved its adoption: "Resolution No. 483. Transferring 03500.00 from the Electric Light Fund to the Health Center Fund." Mr. Latham seconded the motion to adopt the Resolution and on roll call i adopted and passed unanimously. 5 Mr. Tilden moved that the newly acquired Baum and Landsberger property be known hereafter as Franklin Park, seconded by Mr. Latham and carried unanimou 6/ Mr. Probst introduced the following Resolution and moved its adoption: "Resolution No . 484. Transferring $1500.00 from the Electric Light Fund to the Franklin Park Fund.' Mr. Latham seconded the motion to adopt the Resolution and on roll call it was adopted and passed unanimously. The following communications were received: From the Mayor, Auditor and City Manager re count of money on tay 3rd, 1922. Ordered filed. 8V From George Edwards, re formation of a Water District. Mr. Tilden moved that the communication be referred to the City Manager, seconded by Mr. Latham and carried. 1•1 Y • The Clerk stated that he was in receipt of a petition for the reclassifieation of property situated on the north side of Taylor Avenue, seventy feet west of Page Street, from a Class I, Residence District, to a Class II, Residence District; that notices had been posted in accordance with Ordinance No. 144 New Series, and amend- ments thereto and that no protests had been received. There being no objectors present, Mr. Probst introduced the following Resolution and moved its adoption: "Resolution No. 485. Reclassifying the Property Situated on the North line of Taylor Avenue, 70 feet West of Page Street, thence Westerly 35 feet, Thence Northerly 105 feet, to a Class II Flat,:etc. District." 6 May 16th, 1922. 10/ The Clerk stated that he was in receipt of a petition for the reclassifica- tion of property situated at 911 Lafayette Street from a Class I Residence District, to a Class II, Residence District; that notices had been posted in accordance with Ordinance No. 144, N. Amending Ordinance No. 207, New Series., Entitled "An Ordinance Providing for Establishing Set-back Lines", by adding a New Section Thereto to be Numbered. Section 6*, Providing for the Establishment of Set-back Lines Proportionate to the Depth and. Width of the Lot." came up for passage. Mr. Probst moved that the ordinance be adopted, seconded by hr. Latham and on roll call it was adopted and passed unanimously. The Clerk stated that he was in receipt of two bids for the construction of a comfort station at Washington Park. Yr. Latham moved that the bids be received and opened, seconded by Mr. Probst and carried. Thereupon the Clerk opened and read the bids as follows: From FredUoller, 180 Jessie St. San Francisco,..... i2875.00. From The Mission Concrete Company, Inc., 607 Now Call Building, San $2600.00. Both bids were accompanied by a certified check in the amount of $300.00. After discussion, Mx. Latham moved that the contract be awarded to the Mission Concrete Company, as per their bid of $2600.00, seconded by Mr. Probst and on roll call ried unanimously. The City Manager stated. that the VeterS of Porei Mars had applied for May 16th, 1922. request be granted, without cost, and that the city Manager be given power to act, seconded by Lir. Probst and carried. 16 V In the matter of the installation of playground apparatus in Jackson Park, kr. Probst moved that it be referred to the City ilanager for further investigation, seconded by kr. Latham and carried. Claims against the General Departments amounting to P2654.48; against the Police Department amounting to 170.75; against the ?ire Department amount- ing to 1324.29; against the Street Department amounting to E41.43; against the Health Department amounting to !86.52; against the Recreation Department amounting to 122.69; against the Store Department amounting to 50.00; against the Relief Fund amounting to ,136.54; against the Electric Light Fund amounting to '577799r and against the industrial Railroad.
