REGULAR MEETING OF THE COUNCIL QF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA,
TUESDAY EVENING, AUGUST 15TH, 1922.
The meeting convened at 8:10 P. M. with Council-president Otis presiding
-
The roll was called and. Councilmen Latham, Probst and. President Otis', (3)
were noted present. Absent: Councilmen Adams and. Tilden, (2).
The minutes of the regular meeting of August 1st, 1922 were approved as
read.
Mr. Probst introduced the following Resolution and moved its adoption:
"Resolution No 537
Transferring $500.00 from the General Fund to the
Initiative Relief Fund."
Mr. Latham seconded the motion to adopt the Resolution and on roll call it was
adopted and passed unanimously.
Mr. Latham, introduced the following Resolution and moved its adoption:
"Resolution No. 538.
Transferring 5000.00 from the General Fund to the
Library Fund."
Mr. Probst seconded the motion to adopt the Resolution and on roll call it was
adopted and passed unanimously.
3/ Mr. Probst introduced the following Resolution and moved its adoption:
"Resolution No. 539.
Transferring All Surplus Moneys to the General Fund."
Mr. Latham seconded the motion to adopt the Resolution and on roll call it was
adopted and passed unanimously'.
4' Mr. Latham introduced the following Resolution and moved its adoption:
"Resolution No. 540.
Creating the "Compensation Insurance Fund" and
Transferring 42997.07 from the General Fund to
the Compensation Insurance Fund."
Mr. Probst seconded the motion to adopt the Resolution and on roll call it was
adopted and passed unanimously.

14/ , City Manager Hickok report regarind the purchase of the Carpentier property
for the enlarging of Franklin Park. Mr. Latham moved that the matter be referred
to the Committee of the Whole, seconded by Mr. Probst and carried.
15' The City Manager informed the Council that the Southern Pacific Company
desired to install a curb along its right of way at the east end of Ehainal Avenue.
Mr. Latham moved that the matter be referred to the City Manager with power to
act, seconded by Mr. Probst and carried.
Mr. Latham moved that the City Manager be granted two weeks vacation, commencing
August 19th, 1922, seconded by Mr. Probst and carried.
Mr. Latham moved that City Clerk, W. E. Varcoe, be appointed acting City Manager
during the City Manager's absence, seconded by Mr. Probst and carried.
Claims against the General Departments amounting to ilii-298.11; against the Police
Department amounting to $384.84; a st the Fire Department amounting to $151.32;
against the Street Department amounting to 152.19; against the Health Department
amounting to $94.47; against the Recreation Department amounting to 11.78; against
the Initiative Relief Fund amounting to $19.75; against the Council Relief Fund
amounting to $27.98; against the Electric Light Fund amounting to 5194.32; a a
Franklin Park Fund amounting to 265.59 and against the Health Center Building Fundf
amounting to 16750.00 having been approved and audited by the proper officials were
listed by the Clerk as follows:
