JUNG, NO' BER, 8, 1922.
The meeting convened at 8 o'clock with Counoi(.-president Otis presiding
The roll '4 called and Councilmen Adams Latham, Probst Tilden and
President Otis were noted present.
The minutes of the regular meeting of October 17th, 1922, were approved
as read.
1- Mr. Probst introduced the following Resolution and moved its adoption:
"Resolution No. 563.
Transferring $36.68 from the General Fund to the
Pollee Pension Fund."
Mr. Latham seconded the motion to adopt the Resolution and on roll call it S adopted
and passed unanimously,

2, Mr Latham introduced the following Resolution and moved its adoption:
"Resolution No.564,
Transferring $1932.89 from the Eleotric Light
to the General Fund."
Mr. Probst seconded the motion to adopt the Resolution and on roll call it was adopted
and passed unanimously.
3/ Mr. Probst introduoed the following Resolution and moved its adoption:
"Resolution No. 565.
Transferring $100.0° from the General F � to the
Council Relief Fund."
Latham seaonded the motion to adopt the Resolution and on roll call it was adopted
and passed unanimously,
The following were received:
4 Continuation Certificate on the bond of Walter J. Plummer, Co
Municipal Electric Light Plant. Ordered filee.
5, Copy of Contract between City of Alameda and. Symon Bros. for wrecking
Carpentier House in Franklin Park. Ordered filed.
The following communications were received;

From the Mayor, Deputy Auditor and. City Manager, re count of money. Ordered
filed.
8v From the Alameda Improvement Club, re improvement of the service of the
East Bay Water Company in the -;et end. Mr, Lath moved that the letter be referred
to the C ity Manager far answer, seconded by r. Probst and carried.
9/ Mr. Lath introduced the following Resolution and moved its adoption:
"Resolution No. 566,
Transferring Certain Equipment from the Store
Department to the Police Department:
Mr. Probst seconded the motion to adopt the Resolution and on roll call i
adopted ,and p4-zsed unanimously
10/ In the matter of the closing of Shell Street, sotion upon which 9 taken by
November 8th, 1922.
Thereupon Mr. Latham introduced the following Resolution and moved its adoption:
"Resolution No. 567.
Resolution of Intention No. 64, New Series.
(Shell Street)."
Mr. . obst seconded the motion to adopt the Resolution and on roll call i
adopted and passed unanimously.
Mr. Probst introduced they following Resolution and moved its adoption:
"Resolution No. 568.

Mr. Lath seconded the motion to adopt the .Resolution and on roll call it was
adopted and passed unanimously.
121 The Clerk stated that he was in receipt of a petition for the reclassification
of the property situated at 1223 Pacific Avenue; from a Residence District Class I
to a Residence District, Class II; that<notices had been posted in accordance with
Ordinance No. 144, New Series, and amendments thereto .and that no protests had been
received. Mr. Clark D. Miner, Sr., the petitioner, was present and stated his
desires. There being no objectors present in the Council Chamber, Mr. Tilden
introduced the following Resolution d moved its adoption:
"Resolution No. 569.
R lassifying the Property Situated at 1223
Avenue, to a Class II, Flat, etc. District.*
Mr. Latham seconded the motion to adopt the Resolution and on roll call it was adopt-
ed and passed unanimously.
The Clerk stated that he was in receipt of a petition for the reclassification
of the property situated at the northeast corner of Chestnut Street and Lincoln
Avenue, from a Single ily Dwelling District, Class I to a Retail Business District
Class III; that noticaes had been posted in accordance with Ordinance No. 144, New
Series, d endments thereto and that no protests had been received. r. Frank
Andronico, the .petitioner, s present .and stated his desires. Mr. J. W. Milliken
and Mr. 0 sby were present snd addressed the council in protest. In as much as
no plans had been filed with the City ,Clerk showing the contemplated improvement,
Mr. Lath moved that the matter lay over for two weeks, seconded by Mr. Probst and
carried.
14,' The Clerk stated that he was in receipt of apetition for the reclassification
of the property on the southwest corner of Clinton Avenue and Willow Street from
a Residence District Class II, to a Hospital District, Class VI; that notices'
had been posted in accordance with Ordinance No. 144, New Series and endmente
thereto; that objections from property owners within the district had been filed
with the City Clerk, signed by Mr. Th as,, F. W. Oraig, and Andre Fourahy. Also,
four petitions signed by various property owners protesting a inst the granting
of the petition were presented by A. H. Hoover d J. P. Thorn. Miss gate Creedon,
the petitioner, .s present in the council chamber. Dr. W. O. Smith addressed the
council in her behalf, as did Messrs. M. Couchot, Dr. Peter Crosby, E. S. Babas,
E. K. Taylor, Carl Strom, Dr. Wm. B , .Stephens and Dr. R. G. Broderick. Messrs.

be submitted, seconded by Mr. Lath and carried. Mr, Tilden then moved that it be
the.sense of the Council that the petition be granted;that the City Clerk be in..
strUcted to take the necessary steps to properly bring the t er before the Council
and,that the City Attorney prepare the proper ordinance for intro tion at the n
meeting of the Council to be held November 21st, 1922, seconded by Lath d on
roll call carried unanimously.

that the matter be referred to the City Manager with power to Bot, aeconded by Mr.
Latham and carried.
