1922-12-19 Regular CC MinutesREGULAR MEETING OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA,
TUESDAY EVENING, DECEMBER 19TH, 1922.
The meeting convened at 8 o'clock with Council-president Otis presiding.
The roll was called and Councilmen Adam, Probst, Tilden and. President
Otis (5) were noted preseLt
The minutes of the regular meeting of December 5th were approved as read.
The following were received:
1 I/ Report of City Manager, C. E. Hickok, for the year 1921-1922. Ordred.
filed.
Reports of the Municipal Electric
August and September, 1922. Ordered filed.
Mr. Probst introduced the following Resolution and moved its adoptinn:
"Resolution No. 578.
Transferring $474.43 from the Police Pension Fund to the
General Fund."
Mr. Latham seconded the motion to adopt the Resolution and on roll cs11 it wac
adopted and passed unanimously.
4\/ kr. Latham introduced the following Resolution and moved its adoption:
"Resolution No. 579
Fixing the Salary of the City Hall Custodian."
Mr. Probst seconded the motion to adopt the Resolution and on roll call it was
adopted and passed unanimously.
5\1 Mr. Probst introduced the following Resolution and moved its adoption:
"Resolution No. 580.
Ordering the Closing of Shell Street in the City of
Alameda."
Mr. Latham seconded the motion to adopt the Resolution and on roll call it was
adopted and passed unanimously.
The following communications were received:
6 From the American Legion Rifle Club requesting permission to erect a
rifle range in American Legion Hall. The letter was accompanied by written con-
sents of the tenants of the building, thereupon Mr. Tilden moved that the request
be granted, seconded by Mr. Probst and carried.
7v From the Executive Board of the Alameda City Health Center enclosing
copy of Resolution requesting the Council to approve the plane and specufications
submitted for the Health Center Building and to advertise for bids for the erection
of same. Mr. Latham mared that the plans and specifications as .ubmitted be adopted,
seconded by Mr . Probst and on roll ,call carried unanimously.
kr. Latham introduced the following Resolution and moved its adoption:
"Resolution No 581.
Resolution to Advertise for Bids for the Health Center."
Mr. Probst seconded the motion to adopt the Resolution and on roll call it was adopted
and passed unanimously.

came: up for passage and was read by the Clerk. Mr. Latham moved that the Ordinance
be adopted, seconded by Mr. Probst and on roll call carried unanimously.

the Police and Fire Departments of the City of
Alameda,also for the Administration of such Fund."
(same up for passage. Mr. Probst moved that action be postponed until the regular
meeting of the Council to be held January 2nd, 1923, second.ed by Mr. Latham and
carried.
Messrs. Hollings, Schlichting and Jorgenson, representing the Alameda Improvanent
Crlub 'addressed the Council re inadequate water supply for the West End, also, as to
what steps had been taken toward acquiring t11,) Vowinckel property for park purposes.
131 In the matter of the hearing on the opening of Versailles Avenue, Mr. Tilden
moved that action be postponed until the regular meeting of the Council, January
2nd, 1923, seconded by Mr. Probst and carried.
14V The City Manager and City Engineer reported to the Council re Government Islaid
lease and that steps were being taken to have the lease cancelled.
The City Manager was insiructed to look into the matter of a time allowance far
sick leave of the employees of the city and to report back to the Council.
