ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OP ALAMEDA
THURSDAY, May 5TH, 1921.
The meeting convened at 8 P. M. with President Otis presiding.
The roll was called and. Councilmen Adams, Latham, Probst, Tilden and President
Otis, (5) were noted present. Absent: None.
1/ Mr. Probst introdUced the following Resolution and moved its adoption:
"Resolution No. 387.
Resolution of Award."
Mr. Latham seconded the motion to adopt the Resolution and en roll call it was
adopted and passed unanimously.
2 Mr. E. W. King, Promotion Manager of Neptune Beach, addressed the Council
requesting permission to run amateur boxing and athletic contests each Wednesday
evening. The matter was referred to the Committee of the Whole Meeting.
Mr. Latham moved that the Council adjourn to meet as a Committee of the Whole
seconded by Mr. Tilden and carried.
Upon reconvening Councilmen Adams, Latham,Probst, Tilden and. President Otis,
(5) were noted present.
Mr. Tilden moved that the application filed by Gee- H. Noble for the re-
classification of the property situated at the southwest corner of Central Avenue
and. Sherman Street, be denied, seconded by Mr. Adams and on roll call carried by
the following vote: Ayes: Councilmen Adams, Latham, Tilden and. President Otis
(4). Noes: Councilman Probst, (1). Absent;None. Mr. Probst explained his vote,
stating that he believed the location referred to was a proper one for apartment
houses and that he thought the time had arrived when apartment houses should be allow-
ed to be constructed.
In the matter of the reclassification of 1604 Santa Clara Avenue, President
Otis stated that the Committee of the Whole had partially considered the matter,
but would not at this time make a recommendation, whereupon Mr. Probst moved that
the matter be referred to the next meeting of the Council, May 17th, 1921, seconded
by Mr. Latham and carried.
Mr. Tilden moved that the matter presented to the council by Mr. E. H. Scullin
at the regular meeting of the council held on May 3rd, be laid on the table, second-
ed by Mr. Latham and carried.
There being no further busine6s to transact the council adjourned to meet
in regular session Tuesday evening, May 17th, 1921, at 8 o'clock.
