1920-05-18 Regular CC MinutesREGULAR MEETING OF 712 COUNCIL OP THE CITY CF ALATEDA, TUESDAY EVaTING, MAY 16TH, 1 92O The meeting convened at 6:20 72;. m, by Council-president Otis. The roll was called and Councilmen Adams Latham Probst and President Otis (4) were noted present. Absent: Councilman Noy, (1). The minutes of the regular meeting of May 5th, 1920 were approved as read© The minutes of the adjourned regular meeting of May 10th, 1920 were approved as read. The rniniites of the adjourned regular meeting of May llth, 1920 were approved as read. The following was ordered fil ed: 1 Leaso of Barnes & Tibbitts Shipbuilding and Drydock Company with the City of Alameda. The following communications were received: From the Mayor Auditor and City Manager stating that they had counted ti money in the city treasury on May 17th, 19 20. Ordered filed. From Superintendent of Schools, C. J. Du Four, regardin5 increase in salaries of the teachers© Ordered filed. The matter of the petition of E. B. & A. L. Stone Company for the formation of a Reclamation District in the city of Alameda, at their request was continued, until June lot, 1920. The matter of the protest of Emilie G. Cohen encl Gustav H. Tend,t against certain improvements under Resolution of Intention No. 49, N. S. was on motion of Mr. _Probst, seconded by Mr. Latham postponed until August 3rd, 1920. The Clerk stated that there haci been filed in his office on May 10th, 1920 a petition signed by owners of more than twenty-five per cent of property within a radius of six hundred feet of the property situate at the southwest corner of Park Avenue and Encinal Avenue consenting to the re-classification of said. property from a Class II to a Class V. District. A certificate showing due posting Of notices as required by Ordinance No 149, New Series, was presented and ordered filed. As tho time set in the notice provided for a hearing on this evening, Council-president Otis asked if there were any persons resent who objected to the proposed change. None epeared ITr, W. D. Evans briefly explained the matter to the council Thereupon a bill entitled "A BILL FOR Ordinance No. few Series, Reclassifying the Property situate at the South- west corner of ark Avenue and Eneinal Avenue, from a Class II to a Claws V. District..." was introduced and laid ove- under a provision of the charter. Mr. Probst introduced the following Resolution and moved its adoption: "Tesolution No. 305 . Authorizing the Mayor and City Clerk to Sign Quit Claim Deeds in Re. Harrison Avenue." Hr.
