CITY OF ALAMEDA, FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 24, 1909.
Meeting convened with Mayor Noy presiding.
The roll was called and Councilmen Christensen, Walker, Hammond, Ells and Bullock
were noted present, and Councilmen Krumb, Crosby, Fisher and Probst were noted absent.
The Clerk read a communication from the Mayor, in which he approved the Resolu-
tion adopted at the meeting of September 21st fixing the tax rate for the current year
at $1.26 on each $100 valuation. Mr. Hammond moved that the communication be filed,
seconded by Mr. Bullock and carried.
City Attorney Simpson addressed the Council on the project of annexing Frui
vale and Melrose to Alameda, stating that he had not had time to prepare the necessary
Ordinance.
Mr. Hammond moved that when the Council adjourned that it do so out of respect
to the sister of Councilman Krumb who had passed away this morning, and that the
Clerk direct a letter of condolence to Councilman Krumb, seconded by Mr. Walker and
carried.
Mr. Ells moved, that acting on the remarks of the City Attorney with reference
to the annexation project that the Council adjourn to meet Monday, September 27th,
1909, at 8 o'clock p. m., seconded by Mr. Walker and carried.
