ALA1,7141DA, THURSDAY EVENING, APRIL 30, 1914.
The meeting was culled to order by Mayor Frank Otis.
The roll was called and the following were noted present. Council
men Bartlett, Bullock, Hammond, MacRae, Morgenstern, Morris Probst
Roth and Stewart, (9). Quorum present.
The Clerk then read the call of the meeting and the certifi-
/ cate signed by E. A. Willing stating that the Mayor and nine Council-
men had been served with copies of the call. Ordered filed.
Mr. Probst offered the following Resolution and moved its
adoption:
WHEREAS, It appears for the best interest of the City of Alameda
and for the public good that the bid of Marion Campbell for the Re-
freshment Concession in Lincoln Park be accepted, therefore be it
RESOLVED, That said bid be accepted and the same is hereby
accepted and that the said Concession be and the same hereby is
awarded to said Marion Campbell upon the terms set forth in her
sa-id bid therefor.
Mr. Morgenstern seconded the motion to adopt the Resolution
and it was passed and adopted by the following vote:- Ayes:
Councilmen Bartlett, Bullock, Hammond, T'IcRae, Morgenstern,
Morris, Probst, Roth and Stewart, (9). Noes:None. Absent:None.
In.support of the Resolution Mr. Probst stated that while
there had been one higher bid than the one accepted, he deemed
the acceptation of the lower one offered by Miss Campbell as
being for the best interests of the people who patronized the
park. Mr. Morgenstern in seconding the motion stated that he
was in hearty accord with Mr. Probst's remarks.
Upon motion of Mr. Probst seconded by Mr. Stewart and duly
carried, the Clerk was instructed to return the certified check
of the unsuccessful bidder.
There being no further business to transact, the Council
adjourned.
