SPECIAL MEET I:0-G OF THE COUNCIL OF TIE CITY OF ALATEDA,
FRIDAY EVENING, MARCH 2, 1917.
The meeting convened at 8:05 P. H. with Mayor F. H. Bartlett presiding..
The roil was call ed. and Councilmen Allan, Hammond. Majors, Morris and
obst, (5) were noted present. Councilme-n Smith Stewart and Roth (3)
arrived later and were noted :pre s ent . Absent ; Counc ninon Walke r (1 )
The Clerk read the call of the meeting as issued. by Councilmen Walker,
Probst and Hammond. Ordered filed.
A communicE.Aion was eceived from the Aeolian Yacht Club protesting
against permitting any fill upon the tidelands on the western side of Alameda
and urging also that the tidelands be improved to provide for an aquatic
-park. Ordered filed.
Mayor Bartlett asked to be excused, whereupon Council-president Roth
t ook the chair.
A general discussion on the matter of rescinding action heretofor
taken by the Council, which granted the Oakit_Ind Waterfront Company permission
to erect a levee on the western tidelands took place, in which George Hagy,
M. Preeze, dr. Bingham Geo. H. Masters L. A. King, Greene Majors, E. K.
Taylor, Frank Itfacau.ley, E. C. Sessions exicl Marshal C. Harris took part.
lir. Hammond. moved that all action heretofore taken be rescinded, seconded.
by Mr. Probst. and on roll call carried unanimously.
There being no further business to transact Council adjourned to
meet in regular session, Tuesday y evening, March 6th, 1917 at 8 o'clock.
