TUESDAY ETELITIG, DECEMBER 23RD, 1919.
The meeting convened at 8:10 p. m. with council-president Otis presiding.
The roll was called and Councilmen Adams, Latham, Probst and President Otis,
e noted present. Absent: Councilman Noy, (1).
An Ordinance providing for the calling of a pecial election January 3lst,1920
carne up for discussion and action on it was postponed one week.
Mr. Probst moved that the council adjourn to meet in adhourned regular session,
Tuesday evening, December 30, 1919, at 8 p. m, for the purpose of taking 121) the
ordinance calling the election, seconded by Mr. Latham and carried.
Mr. Probst introduced the following Resolution and moved its adoption:
"Resolution No. 259.
Authorizing the Board of Public Utilities to Purch
Certain 2roperty for and on Behalf of the
City."
Mr. Latham seconded the motion to adont the Resolution and On roll
and eassed unanimously.

An Ordinnce Authoriging the lease of a Portion of the
City's Corporation Yard, Located at the Norther Termina-
tion of Grand Street, to James Robertson of the City of
Alameda for the period of One Year, Commencing January
First,1920."
came up for passage. Mr. Latham moved that Section 1 of the Ordinance be amended by
adding the following clause;-"Nothing herein contained sball be deemed to prohibit
the city from incorporating such other provisions in said lease as may be deemed
necessary to safeguard the city s interests.", and that the ordinance as so amended
be adopted, seconded by Mr. Probst and on roll call carried unanimously.
A Bill entitled

Amending Sections 129 and 130 of the Municipal
Code of the City of Alameda •"
came up for passage. Mr. Probst moved that the ordinance be adopted, seconded by
Mr. Latham and on roll call carried unanimously.
The communication received from the Park Street Merchant's oo iation
relative to the license on business firms was ordered filed.
re being no further business to transact the Council adjourned to meet in
adjourned regular session, Tuesday evening, December 30th, 1919, at 8 o'clock p. m.

ALAMEDA, TUESDAY EVENING, DECEMBER 30, 1919.
The meeting convened at 8:15 . m, with Council-president Otis presiding.
The roll was called and councilmen Adams, L.tbarn, Probst and President Otis,
(4) were noted present. Absent: Councilman Noy, (1).
Mr. Probst t introduced the following Resolution and moved its adoption:
"Resolution Yo. 260.
Transferrin ;5,879.96 from the General Fund to
the Park Purchase Fund as a Loan."
Mr. Latham seconded the motion to adopt the Resolution and on roll call it was
adopted and passed unanimously.
A Bill entitled
"A Bill
For Ordinance To. New Series.
An Ordinance Calling and Providing for, and Giving
Notice of a Special Election to be held in the City
of Alameda, State of California, on Saturday, the
31st day of January,1920, for the Purpose of Sub-
mitting to the Electors of said City, a Proposition
to Grant Certain Tide and Submerged Lands Forever to
the United States of America for Naval Base Purposes,
Including Yards, Docks, Re-2air Shops and All other
Public ':iorks Connected with the Naval Establishment
of the United States."
was laid over to the next regular meeting of the council.
L. Latham moved that the tidelands matter,which was to have been discussed
on this evening, be laid over to the next regular meeting of the council, seconded
by Mr. Probst and carried.
A claim amounting to 312,842.11 against e Park Purchase Fund, having
been approved and audited by the proper officials was listed by the Clerk as
follows:
PARE: 1-UR0HASE FUND.
Alameda Savings Bank Interest and principal on bonds 2,842.11
Mr. Probst moved that the claim as listed be paid, seconded by Mr. Latham and
on roll call carried unanimously.
There being no further business to transact the Council adjourned to meet
in regular session Tuesday evening, January 6th, 1920, at 8 o'clock.
