A communication was received from the hoard of Rducation recommending the purchase
for a new school site of a certain lot of land described as follows: Commencing at the
point of intersection of the southern line of Santa Clara Avenue with the eastern line
of -Fighth or Prospect Street and running thence easterly along said southern line of
Santa Clara Avenue three hundred and twenty (32(7 ) feet;thence at right angles southerly
two hundred sixty (260) feet ;to the northern line of Taylor Avenue ;thence westerly along
said last named line three hundred twenty (320) feet to the eastern line of Eighth or
Rrosect Street and thence northerly along said last named line two hundred - xty (260)
foot to the point of commencement;for the purchase price of 4;,20,030.00. The saTme was
referred to the Committee of the Whole. ,
The matter of the hear np; as set by resolution on December 21st regarding the stalling of different water mains came up. Hir.Bulloc-k moved that the Council adjourn
and that the matter he taken up in a session of the Committee of the bhole in the Committee
Hoar: immediately after at journmert,seconded by hr .Foy and carried.
