2003-04-15 CIC Minutes MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL COMMUNITY IMPROVEMENT COMMISSION MEETING
TUESDAY - - APRIL 15, 2003 - - 7:27 P.M.
Chair Johnson convened the Special Meeting at 7:37 p.m.
Commissioner Matarrese led the Pledge of Allegiance.
ROLL CALL - Present: Commissioners Daysog, DeWitt, Kerr,
Matarrese and Chair Johnson – 5.
Absent: None.
MINUTES
(03-024) Minutes of the Special Joint City Council and Community
Improvement Commission (CIC) Meeting and the Special CIC Meeting of
March 18, 2003; and Minutes of the Special Joint City Council and
CIC Meeting (Closed Session) of April 1, 2003.
Commissioner Daysog moved approval of the minutes.
Commissioner Kerr seconded the motion, which carried by unanimous
voice vote – 5.
AGENDA ITEMS
(03-025) Resolution No. 03-111, “Authorizing the One-Year
Extension of the Existing Temporary Construction and Access
Easement Between the Port of Oakland and the Community Improvement
Commission and Further Authorizing the Executive Director to
Execute up to Two Subsequent One-Year Extensions if it can be Found
that Such Extensions will not Impede the Redevelopment of the Fleet
Industrial Supply Center/East Housing Property.” Adopted.
Commissioner Kerr moved adoption of the Resolution.
Commissioner Matarrese seconded the motion.
Under discussion, Commissioner DeWitt stated an extension is being
requested; inquired the reason for the delay and whether the Port
of Oakland has the funds to proceed.
Barbara Price, PK Consultants representing the Port of Oakland,
stated delay has been due to federal funding; there is now a
positive flow of federal funds and the project should get back on
track.

On the call for the question, the motion carried by unanimous voice
vote – 5.
ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business, Chair Johnson adjourned the
Special Meeting at 7:40 p.m.
