DECLARING.. PUBLIC INITREST AND NECESSITY' REQUIRE
THE ACQUISITION' OF CERTAIN LANDS FOD..Pij4Tq:PARK
PURPOSES.
RESOLVED DY TUE OF TUE CITY 010 ALAYIEDA, and, said Council hereby
finds and determines that the public interest and necessity require the acquisition
by said City of Alameda, for use by said city for public park purposes, all of
those certain lots, pieces or parcels of land situate, lying and being in said City
of Alameda, County of Alameda, State of California, and more particularly described
as follows:
A portion of Lots 2 and 29 and all of lots 30 and 31, 'n
Section 19, Township 2 South, Range 3 West, Mount Diablo Base
and Meridian, according to the map entitled, "Sale Map No. lO,
Salt Marsh and Tide Lands, situate in the County of Alameda,
State of California", filed June 9, 1888 in the office of the
County Recorder of Alameda County, and of record in Map Book
17, page 30, described as follows:
Beginning at the northeastern corner of said lot 31; run-
ning thence along the eastern boundary line thereof south 1320.
feet to the southeastern corner thereof; thence along the sou-
thern lines of said .l,ots 31, 31 and 29 west 1930.53 feet to a
point on the northeastern line of Maitland Drive, as described
in Parcel 2 of Deed from Mary E. Foster, a widow to City of
Alameda, a municipal corporation, dated December 3, 1.924 and
recorded February 18, 1.925 in Book 879 of Official Records of
Alameda County, page 464; thence along the said last mentioned
line north 33* 19' 30" west 90.10 feet to a point on the east-
ern line of said Lot 28; thence nlong the said lat mentioned
line north 586.34 feet to a point on the southern boundary lino
of the northern one-half (1/2) of said Lot 28; thence alcng the
said last mentioned line west 385.38 feet to a point on the
northeastern line of Maitland Drive, as described in Parcel 1
of said deed from Nary E. Foster, a widow, to City of Alameda;
thence along the said last mentioned line north 33* 19' 30"
west 461.59 feet to a point on the eastern line of Maitland
Drive, also known as County Road No. 1468; thence along the
said last mentioned line north 10* 01' 05" east 278.56 feet,
more or less, to a point on the northern line of said Lot 28;
thence along the northern lines of said Lots 20, 29, 30 and 31,
east 2570.51 feet, more or less, to the point of beginning.
RESOLVED, FURTPER, that the City Attorney he, and he is hereby, directed
to commence condemnation proceedings in eminent domain for the acquisition of said
lots, pieces or parcels of land, and that the Mayor be, and he is hereby, instructed
authorized and directed, for and on behalf of said city and its City Council, to
subscribe to a complaint in the Superior Court of said Alameda County for the con-
demnation of said lots, pieces or parcels of land, for public park purposes.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was
duly and regularly introduced and adopted by the Council of the City of Alameda
In regular meeting assembled on the 6th day of May, 1947, by the following vote,
to wit:
AYES: Councilmen Osborn, Sweeney, Anderson and President _ .Jascheld,
NOES: None,
ABSENT: Councilman Jones, (1).
