AMENDING THE GENERAL FUND AND FLEET SERVICES
OPERATING BUDGET BY $118,720 FOR COSTS ASSOCIATED
WITH THE PURCHASE AND INSTALLATION OF IN-VEHICLE DATA
TERMINALS
WHEREAS, on June 18, 2019, the City Council adopted a budget representing the
financial plan for conducting the affairs of the City of Alameda (City) for Fiscal Years (FY)
2019-20 and 2020-21 ending June 30, 2021; and
WHEREAS, Alameda Police Department's (APD) in-vehicle data terminals are
obsolete and require replacement; and
WHEREAS, in 2019, APD surveyed other local department agencies on their
experience with modem vehicle data terminals and ultimately determined the Getac A 140
platform will serve their needs; and
WHEREAS, the cost to purchase and install the new in-vehicle data terminals is
not to exceed $118,730.35; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has considered the report and recommendations of
the City Manager on the budget amendment and has determined that the budget
amendment is both fair and appropriate; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has given this budget due consideration as to its
projected revenues, anticipated expenditures and available fund balances.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Alameda that
the budget amendment for FY2019-20 is approved for the City's General Fund by
increasing transfers out by $118,720.25 and the Fleet Maintenance Operating budget by
increasing transfers in and appropriations by $118,720.25.

I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly
adopted and passed by the Council of the City of Alameda in a continued regular meeting
assembled on the 20th day of May, 2020, by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Councilmembers Daysog, Knox White, Oddie, Vella and
Mayor Ezzy Ashcraft-5.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
ABSTENTIONS: None.
